Apparently, the court has heard the recording of interviews that 'Arry gave to the police during his arrest. The radio news seems fixated on the bit where 'Arry says that he'd rather give you "hundred grand" than try to "nick a few quid" off you.
I worry that harry is trying to play his 'more honest than god' card. Does that trick work with juries?
There is a danger that his testimony will be seen simply as a smoke-screen. Just because he's generous to his friends and family doesn't mean that he wouldn't hide cash from the tax man. What he needs to do is address the facts, rather than tell people how honest he is. The jury will make its own mind up on that particular score. What they want to know is why he did not declare the cash he deposited in an off-shore account that he opened in his dog's name.
Is Harry really mentally ******ed, as that's how I'd describe someone who claims they can't read or write properly, doesn't understand 'figures' and doesn't even know that they haven't been paid for a job they've been doing for 18 months?
Having seen Harry talk umpteen times, I couldn't take anything his says without some salt. Ignorance is no defence under law. If Mandaric has paid tax in US dollars, surely there needs to be evidence. If there is evidence, this would never have gone to court. The police interviews: I made a mistake of being friendly toward a copper during an interview - it backfired on me in the end. Harry, seems to sound like he can charm his way out of the accusations. Why wasn't his lawyer telling him to STFU? Does Harry think he can talk his way out of it? I think he'll have a hard time doing that in court.
If you are unable to read or write properly, or understand basic arithmetic you are 'mentally ******ed', you may not fit into the definition of that phrase used by schools, but you clearly aren't upto the basic level of mental capacity ie. you're ******ed.
What utter nonsense! So, you are equating a lack of formal education with being mentally ******ed? Is that correct?
I would hope that anyone even a fairly hefty 25% below average intelligence would still be able to read, write and do basic arithmetic, yet Harry claims he can do none of these to even a basic level, if that isn't being ******ed, then I suppose only those incapable of doing anything more complex than ordering a McDonald's should be classed as such. You can stick to whatever definition you like, but if he can't do the basics, he's no cleverer than the average 6 year old and any adult who's only at that level is ******ed in my book.
If you managed to read what I wrote, you'd know full well that I'm nothing of the sort, some will call me a **** and that would be harsh but fair, but only a total muppett could think I'm mentally ******ed or illiterate.
With Harry's admission that he writes like a two year old, Surely this isn't the thread to be bringing up illiteracy ?
Is Harry Dyspraxic? If so I believe him. Soon as I heard his defence he sounded exactly the same as me.
that must make him an intellectual giant in comparison to you then, fool. besides, I doubt you come close to me intelligence wise, I can't write and still managed to get A levels, you probably left school with nothing.,
