I have watched both fighters develop through their professional careers and I am now looking forward to the two coming head to head for a British title fight later this year.

Firstly I will talk about Price:

First time I watched Price was at the Olympics and I have to say, that in his semi-final I thought he got completely bullied by Roberto Camarelle, and until last night, my thoughts on Price had always been overshadowed by that performance. He was always saying he beat Fury in the amateurs and I doubted the importance of this as Fury was only 17/18 when this occurred. However, after last night my respect for David Price has gone up immeasurably for the following reasons:

    1. He is in great shape,

    2. He didnt like McDermott coming forward, but his defensive work was awesome and final

    3. He has massive power

    4. He is being well looked after and is doing all the right things.

    Now for Fury:

I have always been a massive fan of Fury, not because I think he is the finished article, but because of the person he is, his desire, his heart, his honesty and his will to fight anyone. he also has fast hands and a great variety of punches for a big man. However, I dont think he has the best team around him and doesnt seem to be advancing as well as he could be. This is only natural as he has had massive upheaval in his private life with his dad and with his own children, this is not a problem as he does have time on his side.

I think the fight is innevitable this year, as Price said last night, Fury will not avoid him.

This is how I see it:

When Fury is Prices age, he could be as good or a better fighter than Price, Infact I think he will be. But at this age I think he is going to find Price hard work. There are questions ofor me over Prices chin, but he does everything right and protects his chin very well, where as Fury will sometimes go looking for trouble. Price certainly has better conditioning than Fury at the moment and it is going to take several years for Fury to get rid of the puppy fat and attain Prices physique.

Fury is the champ and has the talent to go alot further than Price, but due to his age he still has alot to learn and his move forward should be alot slower than Prices. I think Price can move on quite quickly from here to be honest and could even bypass British level and go for a European shot. (I dont really want his fight yet..LOL)

iF THESE TWO ARE TO FIGHT LATER THIS YEAR, FURY NEEDS TO GET IN THE GYM, A NEW GYM A NEW TRAINER WHO WILL TAKE HIM FORWARD TO THE LEVEL HE CAN ACHIEVE.

Got to agree mate. Before last night, I would have said Fury. Dont get me wrong i still think Fury will make a fantastic heavyweight and could hold the world title one day. But Price is 29 and a model pro.... Fury is not there yet and he has got where he has on natural ability without yet honing his skills........

Then again, they both might land first punch and its allover for both of them...lol

    I enjoyed that.

A nice read. I think Price can go far. Like you say, he has the tools and the team around him.
I really like John McDermott and I think what happened last night was an aberration. He should have posed a tougher test. He didn't and he'll have to deal with that. Price had to take him out, and he did.

I'd like to see him go against Zack Page to see what he could do against that kind of fighter.

Price is being managed much better than Fury. Fury says he'll fight anyone at any time. That means he got thrown in against McDermott very early on (and that makes the comparison between the job Price did on John a little unfair).

Mike Perez beats them both right now imo. He has all the potential to go all the way.....if he can be bothered.

i dont know about perez, i watched him in the prizefighter and thought....Wow, what a fighter, Mike Tyson reborn......But he doesnt seem to be fighting much and he certainly doesnt have that great a physique.....Certainly has the power to take anyone out, but i think that if fury or price could keep him off for 3 rounds he would be there for the taking.........

in a similar vein, i think Seth Mitchell might currently get the best of both of them. An explosive fighter with power and great fitness, (former American football player.)

But i think as Mitchell is the next american hope he will end up in the ring with a klitschko quite soon and we will see what he is really made of....

Would be good to see Perez in the ing with one of our lads.......as that is a proper test.....being able to deal woith the intimidation and the knowledge that the guy is going to throw everything at you.

I did. He got ****ed about a bit by the GB team. Looks like the right decision to go pro. Cruiser division in Britain is open enough. He could be British champ by the end of the year. No sense hanging about with a talent like that. He just needs rounds.

Perez had a couple of fights lately. He fought in november against Zack Page (again) and won by shutout(8-0) and did the same on the Jermain Taylor undercard last month. It was on HBO. I don't think he got that the US Public needed to see a KO on tv. The writers liked it, but the public might not have.

I watched the Seth Mitchell V Ibragimov fight.......I thought he'd be crude...he was for a bit, but he is some finisher. I didn't expect to see that at all.

Price imo will destroy Fury, the only hope for Fury is if he get's himself into proper training and lose's some weight.

usually, you will see something from Fury in the news every week. However, he has been very quiet since the Pajkic fight......Could it be that he is in the gym non-stop doing the right stuff?

    or

Because he has problems with his youngster he is taking a break from boxing.....

He needs a big performance in his next fight.

I can only see a Price win - Fury has a knock-out chance of course, at the height and weight levels these guys are at, it could be all over inside 30 seconds.

If it goes any kind of distance, Price knocks Fury into the middle of his retirement.

It was nothing to do with Fury and nothing to do with Price. More to do with the fact that Fury and price are their promoters lead attraction and Maloney and Hennessey want their fighters protected.

Price is going to get called out by Magomev Abdusalomov and I guarantee you he will not take the fight...........
