All this talk of a new stadium sounds great but i`snt there a way loftus road can be upgraded/expanded,i know there are issues with planning because of the houses around the stadium but if the ellerslie road end was to come down and a double stand built with a new capacity of 25,000 was achieved i`m sure that would do us,we all know we don`t have a huge following i remember when reading played at elm park which was a tight ground also a ****hole they moved on to the madstad and now its always empty so while it may be great to have a huge shiny stadium you have to fill it.Also the same for coventry though there support is truly awful.imagine leaving loftus road!.
    Thoughts.....

There's talk of standing areas possibly being reintroduced. One at either end would put 4-5,000 on our capacity but wouldn't address the 1,500 or so sh*t view seats we have. If we have any ambitions of growing as a club a new stadium with multi-use is the only way forward...

No chance, there over 1000 restricted view seats which is why we get often get close to a sell out but dont get there.

Plus it doesnt solve the problems of no leg room and bad facilities.
We would not sell out a 25k Loftus Road, we would sell out a 30k new stadium with clear sight lines, more room (I was in the upper loft for MK and the guy next to me was so fat that I couldnt even sit straight and ended up with a bad back) and good facilities.

I've said the same on here before, but everyone says it won't work. Trouble is I haven't heard of another suggestion that seems to work either! At the end of the day this "unworkable" suggestion, building up and out LR, is the one I'd like to see forced to work. With land prices as they are in West London it is probaly not the most expensive way to go either.

Agreed crap facilities but to be fair we did used to sell out a 27500 capacity ground in standing days.

I would love a bigger and therefore more intimidating Loftus Road. The standing areas would be interesting. As one of the standers in R Block Id be very interested. It'd be good to get a section which becomes known. Upper loft on there feet would be brilliant and raise capacity.

Building out of Ellerslie would be tough. The back gardens are literally feet away.

Maybe we could put it to the residents of ellerslie road as a roof to their gardens, a weatherproof, outside area. Sounds nice. I'd love it if there could be a way of staying at LR. No leg room, who cares? **** facilities, who cares? Football ain't about sitting comfortably with a nice meal. 27,000 at LR, give me that.

Yeh, I agree Woody! Give me a really good tight packed stadium crammed to the rafters with everyone standing, than a half empty drab stadium any day.

Loftus Road will always have a sentimental appeal for me who was raised in Shepherds Bush and has seen the development of the stadium over the last 45 years. Almost all of it funded from his own pockets (without mortgaging it to the hilt) by one Jim Gregory who was often pilloried but who turned our club from a quaint 3rd division outfit in a ramshackle stadium to the peoples champions in 1976.

That will never happen again as the world has moved on and football is now run by big business, it seems at times solely to provide venues for corporate hospitality and expense accounts. All at the expense of decent hardworking and loyal fans.

Sadly we have to keep up with these trends and therefore to safeguard our financial survival, I cannot see how we can continue at LR. In case you have forgotten, the club is surrounded by a school at one end and residential housing everywhere else. I simply cannot see how it would be feasible to build the extra capacity at Loftus Road. The seats are not attractive and the views generally sub-standard. Liverpool get away with charging over £40 a seat because of their history. We cannot. Away supporters won't pay those sorts of prices to sit in cramped seats with obstructed views and no room even to turn away for some fresh air, when your neighbour farts.

I met a canary season ticket holder this week who enthused at length about the steady development of Carrow Road over the years. The seats are comfortable, the views unimpeded and when the club's success justifies it in the future they can build up. We need to know that our owners have a plan to buy and develop a site, preferably within the borough and build a stadium which matches our needs at the present time not their ambitions to be wining the Champions League within 3-4 years. We can build on that stadium and increase capacity over the years provided first of all that we remain successful and continue to invest in talented players.

Yorkshire! I hear what you say, but I've been reading that land in the borough costs astronomical sums, and that cheaper areas are too far out and people won't go there. LR held over 30 000 thousand in the mid 70's with many sitting. If regulations would allow some seats to be removed, and some expansion done (surely some upward expansion is possible at the Loftus Road and S.Africa Rd ends), we could have a stadium that will take close to 40 thousand, which is where I think we should be aiming for the next 10 years or so. We need some seating of course, but for me watching football is about standing and singing and shouting, not sitting squashed up so you have barely any air to sing with!

TF should work something out with the council to play next 2 seasons somewhere else temporarily, strip down Loftus Road and re-build. May be if the neighbours got something in exchange, like stocks and shares to TF's companies and jobs with QPR for life, may be we can do something to some of the houses (such as removing a few, even???)...... I know I could rebuild, I could easily do it, just let me do it, I know exactly what we need!

The ****ty leg room at LR leaves me walking like ' Tiny Tim' after home games.
It's a worse experience than flying economy class for 24 hours.
The seating at LR is ****!

RA should work something out with the fans to stick with a manager for at least the next 2 seasons. Something else temporarily; strip down the project and and re-build. Maybe if the fans got something in exchange, like winning a trophy that actually means something in direct correlation to the money spent. And maybe shares in Chelsea Village for the people of Russia. Shares in RA's companies perhaps. <laugh> Failing that let's nominate Chelsea fans for life-long jobs as cabin boy's for life on his yacht. <laugh> It may be I can do something to some of the hubris surrounding your project...... I know I could rebuild, I could easily do it, just let me do it, I know exactly what you need! You need

To spend obscene amounts of money now !

They've had so many discussions about expanding LR already. I don't think it'll ever happen again.
