Howson and Johnson weren't good enough as a League 1 midfield duo, they were always outplayed by the more skilful teams. Maybe in different teams they can be paired with someone who complements their skills, or lack of, but together, it's a recipe for disaster. Clayton, Nunez, Snodgrass are all better. Howson is like a sh*te version of Lampard, if that's possible. Makes a few easy passes, does nothing creative, and scores a few goals going forwards.
I cant understand how Howson can get slated, He spent years at the club and hindered his own career dropping down divisions with us! people slagged him off this season same reason they did with Johnson because he was doing the dirty work for Clayton to get forward! Johnson was lazy at times inconsistent at times the way he belts it all time did my head in but, he worked hard and got stuck in last 6 months of his career he is one of the only ones to come out with any credit at all.
