i dont know about you guys but i don't think it's over until the fat lady sings... still plenty of points ... i don't see why leeds and forest or even burnley could lose points... i think it's still possible actually, we might beat qpr an watford away... everyone is presuming that the teams above us will keep winning but you never know i reckon... i'm not saying i'd bet on it but we always do **** when expectation is raised, like before the cardiff game, we're much better as underdogs.

Looking at last nights game & being at the reserve game the previous Wednesday evening. It seems the problems we have losing the ball & the final pass in the last third are not just problems with the reserves. Mind you with the lack of movement up front at times its hardly surprising. Fryatt plays better when looking goal wards but McClean was let down by his first touch most if the night & pumping high balls to him against a defence that tall is outrageous.

Some of the final balls last night where excruciating painful to watch. I have seen some Sunday league teams play better in the last third of the pitch. Most down to not looking up to see whats on, some of Gerards balls out of defence where absolutely ****e too. When Guzan rolled the ball to him late on he didn't even know it was coming to him & it nearly cost us. Never seen so many passes going backwards & across the defence in a long time.

I am looking forward to next season, more than likely in the championship, with a better midfield that can tackle as well as look up & pick out a pass.

I personally think if we'd had this team at the start of the season, and NP, we'd now be in the top 3 easily, I don't see why with the experience they'll have had by then, why we wont be there next season. In fact given the changes in our financial situation, and Nige's teams ability to pull in some really outstanding players, I believe next season we'll be THE team in the Championship to beat.

I have yet to see "Nige's" ability to attract 'really outstanding players' which we will need up front next season. Simpson and McLean are not up to this level so we will need another two strikers. The three teams that come down from the EPL will dominate (imo) and together with the three remaining after this seasons play-offs we will struggle next season with our current team. Our inability to score is painfully obvious being almost 30 goals behind Leeds (although they have let in 20 more) so we are going to need at least another two established forwards.
We have done better than I thought this season thanks to Mr Allam, Nigel and his Staff. I wonder what Fraizer Campbell is doing next season?

It's the slow start that killed us, nothing more, nothing less. No point blaming players (Mclean, Simpson, Harper) as the fact is that since these players came into the team we have turned a massive corner. I agree we need another striker but there is a lot to be encouraged about from Mclean and Simpson when you analyse the games every week. Mcleans work rate is phenomenal and he has the ability to put the ball in the back of the net, he just needs a few goals to get the ball rolling. Simpson is looking a lot better also in recent weeks. I started a thread about Harper as I feel he is unfairly scapegoated by some. We are lacking from midfield if anything, Roko has all the ability in the world but seems to drift out of games and not have an impact. We are missing wide players also which is an issue that needs to be addressed for the start of next season, seeing as Cameron won't be available.

We may never see NP bring any players who are outstanding, but he has brought in Chester and Stewart who will develop into outstanding players at this level. Gerrard and Rosenior i would argue are the best in their position at this level by a long way. And we have got a manager who knows how to use the loan market. No doubt next year we will see another 5 loans alongside 2 or 3 permanant signings, so i think we will be up there!

Wigan/West Brom/Blackpool would be perfect, i would not be frightened by any of them. Throw in Wolves and i would still be delighted!
