Just been discussing this on another article, but does anyone fancy a 5-a-side game?

I'm up for it, would be good to put names to faces, say if we booked a court for one or two hours depending on everyone's fitness, but if everyone put where they lived and then we could agree on a doable location for everyone to meet up.

It was also brought up about NUFC not606 v SAFC not606, I tried to arrange this on BBC606 in memory of Sir Bobby, I tried to arrange it with the Soccer Dome in North Shields but they wanted £30 a pitch, and the demand was high, they didn't offer anything, like a free pitch considering I wanted loads, and since it was for a good cause I was rather disappointed that they didn't offer anything but hey ho, **** happens. I simply couldn't afford to pay for all those pitches, especially as there was no guarantee that everyone would turn up in order to pay me back as well as raising money for Sir Bobby. If a rich person would like to take over that, or can suggest another way of doing it then it would be great to set that up.

    Cheers.

Bloody hell, it's been a few years since I've played football (injury) but I have tried to maintain a decent level of fitness.

I could be up for it, however, work shifts make me unreliable unless it's a 9pm kick off.

I could possibly make it once every two weeks though.

9pm seems to be a decent time for 5-a-side, as most are available.

    I'm up for it.

Haven't played for a while due to a neck injury.

So as long as we play the 'head height rule' I'll be fine.

Can't promise that I won't die of a heart attack though

9pm is good for everyone I imagine, tho most centres close at 10 so we'd only have an hour. Somewhere near a Metro stop would be best I think as a lot of the lads on here won't have cars. There's Gossy High School next to Regent Centre, Eldon Leisure or Gateshead Stadium all close to stations

Aye they're near enough Percy Main/Medow Well Metro, might need a bullet/stab/fire/mugging proof vest though.

It's alright, I live in Shields and go through these stops everyday, you develop a scowl that scares 'em off.

I have to pick up and drop off a mate in Jesmond anyway(I live in Cramlington obviously) so if you are on the way, I would be happy to.

I'm in Forest Hall, happy to give people a lift or collect from a metro station along the way.

I wouldn't recommend playing at The Parks in North Shields, played there once. Someone tripped me up by accident and basically shredded my knees and elbows on the Astroturf, horrible surface to play on.

Think i live too far out of the way for a mid-week match. Maybe once the season if over, so there are no matches to clash with, we could organise something. For us more out of the way types! <ok>

    sounds decent
the amount of people on here we could easily have an 11 a side game
    or a 5aside torney!

Think 5-a-side tournament is the way forward! have a game, then break while another game is on, just time for some Lucozade Sport and a tab, back on the pitch! <ok> Ideal.

I'm the same, and it's not that easy. Never understood it myself, but you see Beckham and folk, unreal passers over massive range, yet cannot shoot from open play.

I'm much more a crosser, so 5-a-side took ages to get used to. Can grab a few goals now though!
If you play in an 11-a-side team it is brilliant to get playing 5-a-side at least once a week. Brings on your first touch, close control, tight passing and creativity an inconceivable amount!
