I think he has forgotten where the Vic is, which is a shame but it says he will be a pundit on ESPN.

It is not a players wage cap that is needed, a club wage cap would be far better, i.e. each Premiership team being limited to paying only £1.25 M per week which would equate to £50,000 per player for each of the 25 man squad. It would then be down to each club how they divided it up. If they wanted 5 players on £200k per week then the other 20 players would have to share £250k, i.e. £12.5 k each. It would stop theams like Chavski and £ity having £100 M worth of talent on the bench (or worst still not even on the bench) and give youngsters a chance and keep out inferior foreign players. It would also even up the premiership in terms of competitive edge.

Apparently The Y word is very offensive to Jews in the same way as The P word is offensive to Asians. Well that's what that Baddiel fella was saying on the radio a couple of months ago, so I would not use that. I thought Spuds was your nickname!

What a brilliantly, well thought out comment. Clearly your knowledge of the FA Cup and what it means to the English football fan is superior to the majority. Thats the thing with the cup after all, why should lower league teams bother as we have no hope of success, and heaven forbid the prospect of reaching Wembley in a semi-final. I'm not one for throwing back-handed comments or tongue-in-cheek remarks about other football teams as I love my club just as the next fan loves his. A word of warning to a genuinely successful and exciting Spurs team with dedicated fans, do not forget what it is like to be on the losing side week after week yet still turn up in the cold and windy rain. Don't forget what it is like to feel there is no hope of success in the Cup or the league. If this is how you really feel about the FA Cup... ''Watford are no-hopers''... why would you even bother to show up?

Let us have our moment in the Cup, one of the very reasons tonight will be a sell-out is because we are no-hopers and clearly the magic of the Cup means nothing to you.

As for ''prejudiced fans'' what you forget, I feel, is the passion that football creates. This is not an excuse for slating a teams style of play or morals however it is easy to say what you mean in completely the wrong way. It is hard to be a fan of a club like Watford when the big teams in the world can take our players, managers and success with the drop of a hat, but yes that is life. But what you must respect is the fact that we love our club as much as you love yours, no more and no less. We know we are not as good a footballing side as Spurs and it would ignorant to think we are, but the point is when we win a game in the last minute or beat a massive team in the cup, we have that feeling of success from football that is irreplaceable no matter at what level of football it takes place in. Enjoy your Champions League football, and I really do mean that because if Watford could, I know I would, but for now I'll stick to my Hull away thanks.

Baddiel's a Chelsea fan, so he should probably start any anti-Semitism inquests at Stamford Bridge, Wear_Yellow.

Does anyone else get the impression that yellotoyou hasn't watched us play this season?
We have players that are perfectly capable of mixing it up with the best of them and we definitely have the flying wingers that he bemoans the absence of.

I've never had any issue with Watford, so I'm not sure why some Watford fans seem to be blaming Spurs for money in the modern game or the media's view of hard tackling.

He was on the radio saying that Jews (and he is one) found the Y word very offensive. When asked by many calling in why Tottenham supporters openly called themselves Y's, he suggested they were not Jews and could not understand the offense caused. I am no way calling Tottenham anti-semitic, I was just replying that I would not use the Y word to describe Tottenham supporters as it was considered offensive and I am surprised Tottenham fans still use it. Obviously Baddiel's campaign has not flourished outside Stamford Hill!

Yep, the Y word is very offensive, and i'd never use it for anyone, Spurs fan or not. I hate hearing them chant it...it makes me shudder. I know they don't use it that way, and there are many Jewish Spurs fans who chant it along with the rest of 'em, but it's not pleasant for anyone who isn't a Spurs fan to hear it chanted.

I think that you may be missing the point with the Yid chants.
The whole point in it was to turn a term of abuse into one of solidarity.
Slagging off the Jewish supporters in our fan-base? They're Yids, are they? In that case, we're all Yids and we're proud of it!

Next time any of you get an opportunity, try to pay attention to the away fans when Spurs are at home to Chelsea or West Ham (unlikely as that may be at the moment).
I'm sure that you'll be able to hear them hissing at us.
Vile isn't a strong enough word, frankly.
Why the authorities see this as acceptable is beyond me.

i see the point, i just find it offensive. I'm not a Spurs fan, and i don't see why such an offensive term should be used in football, whatever the reason. Having them hiss is bad too, and yes, not sure why they're allowed to get away with such blatant racism, but implying that Spurs is a Jewish football club probably doesn't help! And no, the Jewish people in your fan base are not the Y word. They are Jewish people, just like people from Pakistan aren't the P word, they are Pakistanis.

I don't care about the scoreline, if the game is half as good as that one.

That is without a doubt the best Murray has ever played in defeat.

    I'm off out. COYH!!!

Yes me - mainly because (and this might come as a surprise to a premiership club) I've been watching Watford and have no desire to watch anyone else until they play agaist Watford and even then I only watch them as a consequence of playing Watford. Personally I couldn't careless about who might be playing for tottenham tonight (and please note I have at no time used any derogatory name for them) I'm only interested in Watford. I have seen enough highlights on MOtD to know there is too much diving, rolling about on the floor, attacking the ref and boringly passing the ballaround in mid field to know I don't like premiership football in the main. From what I've seen it is only the likes of Stoke, Wigan, Blackburn who play passionately and I can't recall me thinking I'd add tottenham to that list - cos i don't like that type of football. i have made it clear I don't mind if tottenham supporters want something different but i do object to them telling me that is the only way football should be played -cos I know from personal experience it isn't.

Thats it I'm off to the game now ... maybe some of you will be there too ... if you are then I give you that respect

Wear_yellow - I suspect Ens has the quotes he does in his signature to show how distasteful those comments are, not because he found them funny.

It's almost exactly the same with Ajax in the Netherlands. The KNVB attempted to start a campaign against it, similar to the 'Kick it Out' racism campaign, but it never really had much of an effect.
