There will be even more massively over-exaggerated conspiracies for the poor man. :)

Pirelli have dismissed the stories that petrov will be thier test driver just now.

also the rest of what petrov said:
" Maybe I will not test Pirelli but maybe we can work together in different parts"

I'm sure I saw something saying that the HRT seat was available to anyone bringing 6.5m euros to the table, which I'm sure Petrov does. The BBC and many other news agencies seem certain he's replacing Trulli at Caterham though, which is probably at least a mildly more competitive drive. I'd like to see someone else alongside Kovalainen too. Kovalainen looked very quick last season compared to Trulli, it'd be interesting to see whether that's outright pace or Trulli was truly awful.

I think its time for Trulli to go, he's not getting anywhere and the team are trying to move forward. They are respected enough to attract a few drivers these days.

This. Though I can see him being useful for experience, Trulli's time in a race seat has passed.
Forever will we wonder what might have been had he not let Barichello through at Magny-Cours in 2004 (if you don't understand the significance, learn your conspiracy theories!), and had Toyota not gone downhill after 2005.

He shouldn't have stayed at Renault anyway. It should have been Jenson's seat. Damn Flavio. <grr>

Perhaps now the cars are starting to be released we can open up the floor to threads with less merging? Before we know it there will be a 2012 testing thread and everything. Hurry on back F1!

I think that might even be an insult to HRT.

I thought Marussia were involved in some sort of technical link-up with Mclaren, so surely they should have access to the Mclaren KERS unit, arguably the best one on the grid? If on outright pace they are as fast as Caterham, losing the 0.3-0.4s to KERS is a big loss.

Excellent news. Bianchi needs practice time in an F1 car but as Ferrari reserve he was never going to get that. He's given himself a good chance of securing a seat for next year.

Whitmarsh: "all I can say with any certainty is that the MP4-27 is a logical evolution of the MP4-26, adapted to the new technical regulations, and that from what we can discern its development is going in the right direction."
