Know how everyone feels though - it's the first week off that I book at work and all i do is watch at home or in the boozer. Cannot wait - again....
Lol yes, and when you tell people you've booked a weeks holiday for Cheltenham, they assume you are actually going. Then when you explain you just watch it at home they look at you like you're seriously sad That's my experience anyway
Not going, this year is all about Silverstone, the Olympics and Glorious Goodwood for me, so I will watch Cheltenham from my office PC. Joy.
Always take a tent, just in case, wear a name badge, in case you get lost, keep your cash in differen't pockets, learn some good Irish Jokes, a first aid kit might come in handy, at the very least a large box of tissues, to soak up the blood, put all your bets on early, and fit a tracker to your bookies joint/pitch, don't talk to strangers, especially ones who say they know any trainer personally. take a few tinnies with you, you don't get any change ever. Was gonna go on the Tuesday, been last two years in the Best Mate and it is fantastic. Just a shame it peters out somewhat with the cross country and the mares hurdle. But after saturday i've decided to go on thursday instead, make sure i see Big Buck's at least once. He will be going for the a record equalling however many as well. Going Tatts so i can see him close up (ha yea fat chance i know, i am nippy tho!). Just completed job app so rewarded myself by getting the tickets just now!! Woohoo!!
Never been before so I know nothing about tickets etc. Are they still available and could I make a late decision?
There should be tickets at the gate on all days except Friday. It is an absolutely must attend event. Terrific and couldn't recommend it highly enough.
My old mans heading down on the Tuesday, considering joining him and his mates- would love to be there to see the Hurricane Bit tricky to see if I can get it off work though as I'm relatively new to my job and I await their response. Bloody hope I can get it off, otherwise it will be racing UK highlights every evening after work
