Well as Spurs play the beautiful game better than anyone else in the country, and are an absolute joy to watch, surely a win for us is a win for football.

Unfortunately, you're all lumbered with watching the wrong team, if you supported us you'd see football was alive and being brilliantly performed by ourselves. I think you'll see who is the real football team tomorrow, and it won't be Watford.

In spite of that, you've managed to lose a few games this season - one of them quite embarrassingly too - so I suppose another loss isn't beyond the realms of possibility. ;)

Could be a good tip there though - pop along to White Hart Lane next week and have a Dzeko at a real team in action. :)

I just thank my lucky stars that I was born in Watford and like the rest of my family went on to support the local club and not a corporate business group from North London - beautiful game - do me a favour - football isn't just about passing the ball about until bordom leads to rigour mortis - gutsy tackles and flying wingers should also be on view.

Are you seriously saying that bale and the rest of the overpaid egos that make up the premiership are worthy of millions of pounds for playing football whilst nurses, firemen, police officers, doctors, social workers, etc.etc. continue to struggle to make ends meets day after day - if so then you and me are worlds apart and never likely to agree.

Well I'm glad you got your wish, you support a bunch of players who haven't got anywhere near the football skills of the team I support.

You also know nowt about football if you think Spurs are boring, they are the most exciting team to watch in the country, bar none. And the poverty of your pathetic 'argument' is exposed hilariously as we have the best 'flying winger' in the country, and one of the best in the world, in Bale.

You clearly don't watch much proper football. Try wathing Spurs sometimes, it'll be a revelation for you, unless you're so blinded by ignorance and jealousy you can't appreciate quality football.

Oh dear, how often do we see a Premiership game on a Saturday night, even when the wonderful Spurs are playing, and nod off, only to hear the experts saying when you come to, "well that wasn't the best game you will ever see." Sorry, but when you look at the record of English Premiership teams playing in Europe, you quickly realise that what might seem wonderful with your tinted specs on, is actually a second rate product that has to be sold as something exceptional due to the monies needed to keep players happy.

No, no you watch low grade football, compared to Spurs. If you think we're boring, you haven't got a clue about football.

If you nod off watching Spurs, you don't like football. We play the best football in the country, and game after game we feature in excites people worldwide. The atmosphere in the pub for City Spurs was absolutely electric on Sunday.

We are one of the reasons why the Prem is the most watched sporting lge in the world, not just football, all league sports.

I think people will find that a lot of pundits agree that the Championship is the most exciting and unpredictable league in England! The premiership has been ruled by 4/5 clubs each season and everyone knows it. The only people who are delusional to this fact are the people who pay through the nose to watch egotistical twerps (with some exceptions) fall over when an opposition player so much as looks at them. When would a newly promoted team be as dominating in the premiership as Southampton have been in the Championship? It does not happen. Norwich and Swansea are doing the best a promoted team has done in years and even then they are only mid-table!! The gulf between the top 5 clubs and the bottom 5 is massive, and it is mainly down to money!

By your last comment, you have just completely proved what has been said - football at professional level is no longer a game, it is a business and one that has been destroyed by large amounts of money. Look at Spain, there's only 2 teams in the hunt for trophies. When are you ever likely to get in England the same scenario that we had during the late 70s/early 80s where a club can go all the way through the divisions and finish second in their first season in the top flight? I believe that now the top flights where the true nature of football is are the top divisions of the smaller national leagues such as Northern Ireland, Iceland and Wales.

Exactly Ensil. There are some Watford fans showing themselves up big-time on here, of all the teams to call boring, they couldn't have picked a worse example.

The Championship may be unpredictable, but if you want to watch real football, played at its best, watch Spurs. As Harry says if you don't like watching Spurs, you don't like football.

The game is alive and well in the Prem, the most watched SPORTING lge in the world, not just football leagues. Spurs and various other clubs produce football that is a joy to watch with many top class players on show in the Prem. It's true you get some horrible teams like Stoke with their anti-football, but teams like Spurs play the game in the right way.

good grief! I thought this thread was about football! What is it with clubs that think they're the best, and their supporters, who feel it's acceptable to come onto a match thread and sound like they're already on the defensive. Very sad.

Shall we talk about football now, instead of slagging off a proud club in Hertfordshire?

Er Hornette, I think you'll find it was your deluded supporter(s) who started slagging off Spurs and calling us boring.

The thread is about football, Spurs play it a level of beauty and precision that's joy to watch. No Spurs fans were slagging off Watford till your lot started with the 'real football' rubbish.

Spurs play real football, if your supporters can accept that, then we can get to dscussing the match on a more temperate basis.

You're a proud club in Hertfordshire, we're a proud club in London. If your fans start slagging us off on a joint board thread, really what do you expect to happen?
