    No way is Samba worth £8m. Would rather have Mariappa at £2m and £6m to spend on somebody else in the summer.

    He is slow! He is!

    Everyone sees it but you! He is average over about 5 yards i'll give you that, any extended distance and he is slow. I still maintain the main reason for our solid defence is we had a leader at the back, Steven Taylor for me is our best defender. Colo may be captain but Taylor is more of a leader IMO. Also read earlier, he averages the most blocks per 90mins in the league, over 0.3 ahead of 2nd place. We probably at points played a high line earlier in the season, but with Saylor being superior to Willo, it could work.

    As for Samba, he is a player that is the definition of average. He looked the part 2 years ago, since then he has gone off the boil. He has never had a ball player alongside him, Blackburn have always played 2 big destroyers at the back, remember they were an Allardyce side. So that isn't his reason for his poor performances. He is a threat in attack as well, but that is irrelevant anyway due to how we are doing set pieces, we've managed to nullify Saylor's attacking threat this season! And most importantly we should be looking for a defender who can defend, not attack. And Samba may be a good header of the ball, but positioning, speed and his general tackling aren't all that.

    This. I don't rate Cahill but he is more the style we need to sign at the back.

    Saylor in ways is better than Colo, but in terms of an all round player, Colo is better IMO.

    Colo's tackling is excellent. Really precise and I never fear him giving away a pen, where as with Saylor and Willo I always have a churning in my stomach in a sticky situation.

    Colo's tactical intelligence is also a bit above Saylor's as well.

    Colo can also use his skill to get out of rough situations, as well as his agility and clever touches.

    Saylor is strong, great in the air and better at cutting out a physical threat that Colo, but overall Colo is better IMO.

    I agree with a lot of what you've said there, though possibly a bit harsh on Saylor's tackling. And I think both have improved so much on what they were in our relegation season. I think Taylor could comfortably be an England regular now. What gives Saylor the edge for me though is his bravery and his passion. He willingly puts himself on the line and blocks everything whereas Colo still turns in fear sometimes.

    No no no, mate :)

    I'm not saying Saylor's tacking is poor. It's good, but he sometimes does go in a bit silly in the box, but all I'm saying is, Colo is quite a bit more precise with his tackling that's all :)

    Just seen this text;

    21:10 GMT Ken Washington: "With Suarez out, LFC best option is Carroll; which means any Wolves forward would be a decent Transfer Deadline purchase."
