You have to feel a little for Forest, Billy Davies mugged them off with unreasonable demands for transfer money. Im sure he did the same at Derby but I cant remember. You have to consider just how much Doherty actually backed them after suffering 3 years of league 1 revenue. He shelled out a lot of money on player like Blackstock, McGoldrick, Gunter, McKenna, Majewski, Earnshaw, Anderson and Lee Camp. You have some hefty transfer fees in there as wages and dont forget they had Aaron Ramsey and Koncheskey on loan which wouldnt have been cheap and there will be other players too.
Hardly unreasonable, I don't think he was able to bring any new players in in his last season (on perms).
Yeah cause he's spent so much already. Blackstock was a 7 figure sum, McGoldrick was 1 mil as was Majewski. Chris Gunter was almost 2 million. For a team without a massive benefactor to spend that sort of money + more after spending three years in league 1 is going to have a knock on effect for signings in the near future. Davies should have known this was the case. I can't believe you have me defending Forest. I'll need to wash myself with bleach later.
