One thing is a fact, Wenger is a great deal more experienced than Boas and Redknapp in knowing how to achieve top 4 finishes. When was the last time we finished outside the top 4? Also, we have 2 keys players coming back from a long injury layoff, Sagna and Wilshere. Sagna is the best right back in the league. This has been a problem position for Arsenal for months, with an assortment of players filling in (Jenkinson and the awful Dujourou). Wilshere will bring more attacking options in midfield and form a more fluid midfield of Arteta, Wilshere and Song. As for Chelsea, it all depends on whether you can get your misfiring Torres working. There is also a chance for Spurs' season to implode too.....
I don't understand how you lot think you'll be invicible with two players who've been out for the season? With an injury like Wilshere's he'll want to be fit for the Euro's aswell so I can't see him going full throttle. Both will take time to regain full fitness. AVB may not have the experience Wenger does, but our players have it in abundence.
By the way things are going i don't think we will hope the injured players that are coming back will save us other wise we will finish outside the top 4. It looks like another season where Wenger isn't going to buy any body in Jan which is embarrassing given the state the club is in. Not only is he not going buy but he is still keeping hold of the dead wood and we are paying them week in week out taking a big chunk out of our wage budget ie Almunia, Arshavin, Dojuouru, Fabianski, Walcot etc.
If we sell Arshavin and Walcott, and Ox gets injured, who would we play wide up front, and who is available to buy for that position, that would step into our team and system and day 1 play well. Dojourou last year at Christmas (before he was injured) was statistically the best central defender in England. This year he has been played out of position most of the year. You are being too harsh on him in my opinion. He is a better defender than Cahill or Samba who everyone hypes far too much. He was part of the Swiss defence (with Senderos) that was unbelievably good a few years ago. You must think Senderos is fantastic. Fabianski is our reserve keeper. Looking around the league, he is better than a lot of first choices out there, I just cant see how you think someone better is going to come to Arsenal to be a reserve. It is very easy to criticize, But in my opinion, our problems start and end in midfield and relate to the loss of Fabregas, Wilshere and Nasri, and recently Arteta being injured. Loking at the performances of anyone else in the team is misleading as they are all struggling to compensate for this deficit. Compounding that you have missing specialist full backs. I think we have to give more credit to Ramsey, Walcott, Dujourou and a few others for the great run of wins at the end of last year rather than the 2 or 3 losses recently.
I never said we were invincible Drogs. But Wenger has the knack of scraping into the top 4 time and time again. Yes it will take players like Sagna and Wilshere time to bed in but if you follow Arsenal you will know that we have been having most of our problems with our right back position. A fresh Sagna off the treatment table is much better than a struggling Dujourou. Also, Ramsey hasn't exactly set our midfield on fire so i can't see Wilshere doing any worse either. You still have a fine squad but you appear to be losing games that you would not usually lose. This is partly down to AVBs inexperience and some of the players simply getting old. Oh and Torres being useless!
