I think our next 9 games will be the hardest of the season so far and after those games our position in the league will only get better in the final 10 games.

So for those of you who have access I am asking you to do the BBC predictor for the next 9 games and post your top 6 underneath be honest to yourself and let's see what we get! I will post mine when I can mess about on my lunch break! :)

Mine is a bit scary; I have us falling as far as fourth (despite beating Cardiff), with the top seven looking like:

    1. West Ham 76 points, +31.
    2. Birmingham 65 points, +27.
    3. Middlesbrough 65 points, +12.
    4. Southampton 64 points, +23.
    5. Cardiff 64 points, +19.
    6. Reading 62 points, +14.

Yeah, just looked through their results, might be a bit unrealistic as I have the following:

    Leeds A 1-1 Draw
    Saints H 1-0 Win
    Pompey H 2-0 Win
    Barnsley A 2-1 Win
    Hull H 2-1 Win
    Leicester A 0-0 Draw
    Notts F H 2-0 Win
    Derby H 2-1 Win
    Burnley A 1-1 Draw
    Coventry A 1-0 Win

That makes it 7 wins and 3 draws in their next 10 games which might be a tad unrealistic.

    I have West Ham down for a similar run as well so hopefully that is unrealistic too;

    Ipswich A 0-0 Draw
    Millwall H 2-0 Win
    Peterboro A 2-1 Win
    Saints H 2-0 Win
    Blackpool A 1-1 Draw
    Crystal Palace H 2-1 Win
    Cardiff A 1-1 Draw
    Watford H 2-1 Win
    Doncaster A 3-1 Win

I have aired on the negative side prob playing up our rivals results and putting ours on the cautious side a bit and came up with this.

    1. west ham 74
    2. cardiff 66
    3. blackpool 63
    4. southampton 62
    5.birmingham 61
    6. reading 59

i was actually quite pleased with this cause i almost done it as a worse case scenario.

If they sign Jelavic, they'll be a pretty formidable side.

Yes it does seem that everyone thinks that now West Ham have gone top thats probably it for the season!

Does anybody have us getting top spot back in the next 9 games?

Looks like I have been a bit more optimistic than most! We have alot of winnable home games so here's mine:

    1. Saints 72pts (+34gd)
    2. West Ham 71 (+26)
    3. Middlesbrough 69 (+12)
    4. Birmingham 67 (+27)
    5. Cardiff 63 (+19)
    6. Blackpool 62 (+18)

I also have Hull and Reading just a point and 2 points off playoffs. Surprised me how easy a run Middlesbrough have! They are gonna be right up there.

    Our results:
    Cardiff (H) - 2-1 Win
    Birmingham (A) - 1-0 Defeat
    Burnley (H) - 3-1 Win
    Westham (A) - 1-1 Draw
    Derby (H) - 2-0 Win
    Watford (A) - 0-3 Win
    Leeds (A) - 1-2 Win
    Ipswich (H) - 4-1 Win
    Barnsley (H) - 3-0 Win

I know I have us going on a storming run at the end of this sequence but I think its important to take into account we beat 6 out of these 9 teams in the reverse fixtures! That can only be a good sign, plus I think (hoping) that by the time Burnley home game or at the latest the West Ham away games comes around that our injury crisis will have abated.

Ps. I havent been on the last few days due to the complete overeaction to our defeat to Leicester on Monday! Disagreed with so much that was written that I decided to just keep away for a while! Keep the faith everybody :)

    That's good to see!

I am still happy after doing this to have us in 2nd I thought it might be worse but I see the Championship living upto its usual way of anybody beating anybody which is why gettin the points on the board early was essential.

i would actually take this, no question. The first seven of these nine games are blooming difficult, so to ultimately go into the final 10 games just 1 point behind 2nd place would be very appealing to me. With who we've got to play in our final 10, we'd have every chance of automatic promotion.

The only possible worry is how far ahead of 7th we'd be (which I obviously can't tell from your table). 5th and 6th are both right up behind us, so there's every chance that 7th (and maybe more) will also be breathing right down our necks.
