Next year Londonderry will hold this award with Derby & Stoke on trent thought to be competing for the honour in 2017. Can anyone tell me what the point in this is? I hear it is to bring money into these cities but I can't see loads of people flocking to Londonderry (or Derby/Stoke) because it has been given the title City of Culture.
Remember when Glasgow was the city of culture? Neds wandering around place wondering what the **** cultyoor wiz.
I remember they were selling tee shirts in Glasgow at the time stating "Glasgow European City of Kultyure" That was priceless.
