What everyone favourite memories of Leicester in the FA Cup. People have said its losing some of the passion in recent years and i do agree with that to an extent. We havent had a decent run in the FA Cup in a long time since we beat Blackpool, Reading and Charlton and then lost to Blackburn. The Charlton game was memorable where Nikos Dabizas and a last minute Dion Dublin goal put us through. And at Reading a last minute James Scowcroft goal put us through. Years ago we had the awful game against Wycombe at Filbert Street where we lost 2-1 and the wheels completely fell off afterwards for Peter Taylor.

But my favourite FA Game is the Tottenham game at the Walkers. Tottenham was going well in the league and we 2 nil up here just before halftime. Last kick of the first half Elvis Hammond bundled the ball over the line. Second half we came out all gun blazing and Stephen Hughes scored a volley from the outside of the area. And then in the last minute everyone was waiting for the offside flag to go up but Mark De Vries brought the ball down and put it past Paul Robinson. We was in the relegation zone at the time and come back from 2 nil down to beat Tottenham 3-2. A few weeks later Craig Levein lost his job.

Hopefully we can beat Swindon and get a easier draw in the next round and then after draw a big team because i think a decent FA Cup run will only help us

So whats your favourite FA Cup memory

I would if any of our posters remember this. Sounded like a great time for Leicester - we almost did the double!

Probably my strongest memory of the FA Cup was that last 16 match against Chelsea in 1997. We did great to come back from 2-0 in the first match at Filbo, then take a replay at Stamford Bridge. We shut out that great side for 120 minutes and were heading for penos whe THE WORST peno decision ever was given against us. See it here:

Such a shame because Leicester were great that year, we won the League cup and finished 9th when everyone thought we'd finished bottom. Chelsea went on to win the cup, but you really felt that if it wasn't for that decision, it would have been us,

I've cursed Erland Johnson every day since that happend. He always comes up in drunken rants against referees (as does Alan Shearer and his not being punished for out right kicking Lennon in the face and Matt Elliott's suspension for shoulder barging Michael Owen)

Always thought Danny Baker had it harsh when he got in trouble for this " "There is a maggot at the heart of the golden core of football, and it is referees," he thundered. Reed, he said, should be the sacrificial lamb. "We're going to make you responsible for all the bad decisions until there is a change." His coup de grace was to suggest that Leicester fans should picket Reed's home in Birmingham."

Moulton - right up there for me - was a student at the time - usually stood in pen 2 of the kop with my cousins and mates but on this occasion we could only get tickets for pen 4 - but managed to climb over into pen 3!

This thread however does show the relative ages of the posters - and many have missed out on the real glory days of the Cup from a City perspecive

QPR 0 - City2 - the Joe Waters game in the 70s 'Oh for the youngster' went the commentary as he slotted both goals on what was, I think, his debut - watch it on Youtube and watch the surge of the massed ranks of city support on the terrace behind the goal where Joe scores - I was there!

Also remember Hull away at their old ground late 70s early 80s - we must have had over 6,000 there, all on the terrace along the side - brilliant atmosphere pre game - arrived in a convoy of 10-15 coaches - all piled off and started to walk down the road into Hull to find a boozer - bit of trepidation when from a corner further around the road hundreds of chanting youths appeared - relax - they are all ours! ... we all met up in the middle of this main road and danced in greeting 'Leicester here, Lleiceicester there ..' happy memories - not least because standing on the terravce during the match a stunning blonde from Thurmaston decided to use my shoulders as an arm rest - ended up going out with her for a couple of months! We won 1-0 - although we were **** really - went out to Walsall in the next round last minute free kick 1-0 - although another fantastic turn-out.

then of course the 1982 semi finals and indeed the 1974 semi final at villa Park where our version of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' from the Holt End put the opposing scousers to shame ..

Those Were The Days My Friends! - one of my old favourite Spion kop anthems ...

And it's for this reason that I've hated Chelsea since that moment. I seem to remember that it made me cry! I despise them so much that I would rather see any other team win, even in Europe!
