According to the BBC Calamity Joe has renewed his interest in buying Pompey. His banker will be dealing directly with Portpin. Here we go again.
It was reported "exclusively" in The News first this morning. I don't know how to feel... If he takes over, maybe we can pay off the taxman and avoid liquidation - for now. But he's clearly very dodgy, and maybe we would be better off without him, who knows anymore
Maybe he could explain to them about all the mistakes they're making .............. just as he's promised he will with Michael Appleton after each game
Well let's see if he passes the F&PPT - the FL wanted to talk further to him last Monday. Never a dull day eh................
I wonder if his new offer will be as high as the previous one..... Looks like some-one playing the waiting game here. I have a nasty feeling he will be an asset stripper who will sell the club down the river. Then again my glass is half empty these days.
Cala does have the intial investment required by the administrators, he has proven that with backing.......the concern long term is does he have the funding to place PFC in a stable position, to be a football club, not a play pawn in a dodgy game of chess!........His commnet about floating us on the US stock market are of great concern........and laughably it could be done...........if the club had assets......which apart from players we dont! We need better news from else where.........over to you AA! BP
So we just need a good director to make a real drama about it all and sign the tv/ film rights across and we are safe BP
My two favourite comments from him were: 1 - he will meet with Michael Appleton after each match and discuss his mistakes 2 - he will invest £20m of his own money to take Pompey to the top 4 of the PL the next day he said the wage bill is too high so he will sell 8 players. He's got to pass the FL's F&PPT yet - probably will, they let anyone pass that.
Wow, what a great idea BP. Get Stephen Spielberg in quick ! TV rights sold to Italy & the USA should be a cinch with Mr Cala's connections. You can just imagine the scene............. Robert di Niro playing Joseph Cala, planning to convert Fratton Park into an underwater football ground, with associated hotel/casino/horse racing track and pole dancing club; Ray Winstone playing Balram Chainrai; the bloke who plays Charlie Slater in Eastenders as Sulaiman Al Fahim; Omar Sharif as Al Fahim/Mirage; Vinnie Jones as Sacha Gaydamak...........the cast list could be endless. Can anyone else think of other suitable canditates for parts. Who for example could play Peter Storrie ?!
We'd need some-one very dodgy looking/acting with an instantly dislikable appeal. erm,..... Couldn't he play himself?
If he does buy the club, I will undertake to stay at least one evening at his underwater hotel that he will no doubt be building in the Solent
