Looks like ****ty will need to spend another Billion in the summer Well done dippers for putting them out. (how much did you pay the ref for the penalty, that was not) Up the Taffs in the final
Be a wierd old final for me, I've grown to dislike Cardiff intensly in the years I've lived in Swansea and I quite obviously dislike 'Pool so it's a final I'm better off avoiding. So, do Liverpool fans now see the Carling Cup as worth winning or is it still a tin pot trophy? I like the tournament, I think it's a good one to win and can give you impetus. When we won it in 2006 beating Wigan we were **** and we needed a cup. It gave us a leg up and we won the league for the next three seasons. Not saying that'll happen to you lot of course but it'll get the monkey off your backs. Like it would have for those idiots Arsenal last season, instead they've gone further backwards.
They still have the Europy League. It'll be interesting to see what Mancini does now - throw all his eggs in the league basket, or try to win the EL and hedge his bets to avoid risking ending the season trophyless. This I definitely remember bazray saying he'd be away for "a few weeks" after the Notlob hammering. Odd how "a few weeks" translated as "until Liverpool win again" Amazing what drawing at home thanks to a dodgy pen can do for fans...
I think you'll find we've ALWAYS respected the League Cup in all it's formats. That's why we've won it more times than anyone else. I think it's a great competition, it's a day out at Wembley, and the possibility of a trophy at the end of it. Roll on 26th.
Surely you mean you personally have always respected it. Most Liverpool fans I know have been taking the piss out of the competition for years. Particularly when United have won it.
No Eric, I mean most Liverpool fans I know have had a deep respect for every competition we've ever played in
