Bates has told us that having 28/29 players on our books has meant that we are two million pounds over budget. Grayson also stated that getting Delph back 'was not cheap' but he was looking to utilise all the money that comes into the transfer pot. It looks increasingly likely that LA Galaxy will snap us Alex Bruce, personally I would have Bruce starting every time over O'Dea... Are we missing something??? What are the club doing to get rid of Connelly, AOB etc.
Whats going on with O'Dea as well? Surely we are going to sign him. I hope we get in a solid centre back but even then I would have though O'Dea would still feature in Graysons plans if Bruce leaves. Madness IMO! Morning Elland, morning all thats about to join

No its not !!!! surely you remember beckhams deal !!! they pay really well, 4 or 5k a week is bugger all to them.

Sorry Elland mate, I really do think O'Dea is that bad. Which is a shame as I wanted him to do well! We are shocking in the CB department thank god Lees came through! Players in the MLS are not massive earners bar one or two players per team, as Wakey mentioned that must divide the dressing room! Good luck to Bruce. If I was him I would jump at the chance because he wont ever get an offer like that again & must have enough money to take any potential cut in wages
Bates has said graysons budget was 9.5 million for wages n fees n everything! He said Grayson has overspent by 2 million so 11.5 works out at 7900k per week for 28 players including fees!! What a joke
Regarding these signings, bates has said that the schmeichal money was spent on bringing in Lonergan and Pugh (with agent fees and everything) which sounds about right if you ask me. He then said we havn't spent the gradel money yet but we only have half of it, the money has depreciated slightly because of currency exchange (euros to pounds) and obviously we dont quite have the howson money yet because its awaiting final paperwork. I dont know anything about any previous transfer money (delph, taiwo, woods etc.) but obviously we are never gonna see any of that anyway What i did find interesting is that bates said that beckford was offered to us last month
Morning all, every time I see O'Dea I try really hard to see the positives, give him the benefit of the doubt, but I always come to the conclusion that he's just poor. I really don't know what Grayson sees in him. Lees meanwhile is immense, & will get better & better. If we just got one more player in, I'd settle for a CB of similar quality to Lees, let O'Dea go, & keep Bromby as back up. Thompson's impressed me at RB, so that position isn't a priority. Just a thought, supposing we hit a run of form & close to within 2 points of Southampton, we could go into the live game with the possibility of going 2nd if we beat them. Wonder how this would affect the planned protests for this game.
kasper was not 1.75m. Try closer to 750k, which is exactly what was reported and a lot of people got annoyed at how little we got for him but personally I think thats not too far off his true value. Lonergan was 100k i think and Pugh 500k. Add on agent's fees and perhaps there combined wages was more than kasper's was so thats where we get that money. Hate Bates if you want but do not twist the truth to make up allegations that dont exist.
