Mrs H goes off to do pilots, as I've grown used to calling it, every Thursday morning (that's where she says she's going anyway!) and seems to enjoy it...mostly stretching as far as I can see...
I can remember it beng the new thing about a dozen years ago and more recently with certain footballers, my physio has recommended it for my joints. Always thought of it as a girly thing but I may just give it a go, it cannot do any harm can it There is a place about 1/2 mile away from my place, so it's not as if I have to drive to go there, I will give them a call tomorrow to make sure it is not an all girl / lady thing first of all, mind it might just be worth going to
a fair few of my friends do pilates, it's all about stretching it seems, though different to yoga, and i think it concentrates heavily on your core, though i could be wrong.
That is another thing the physio said, 'you must work more on your core' So it sounds just right for me providing I can get in and it's not ladies only
Well I have now had 2 phone calls back about the Pilates class, even though currently there are no men in the class they look forward to seeing me when I can go Now is it going to be yummy mummies or wrinkly crinklies, not that I can comment about wrinkles as the back of my head and neck looks like a shar pei's And how am I supposed to exercise whilst sucking in my stomach?
Well dinner was eaten 2 hours ago, now it is a cup of tea and a slice of cake time my last food till after my fasting bloods at 0830 tomorrow morning. Just to they can check my cholestrol levels I wouldn't mind but as I have to get up at 0530 for work it is long time to wait for breakfast
BB - It might have been Sandy. I am OK as Mrs W_Y has had a recognised diary intolerance for a few years and we have been through the shelves. Best non-diary drink she likes is Tesco value Soya drink - non-sweet and it froths up to make a proper frothy coffee and at 65p a carton, it's spot on. She eats Soya spread and Goats and Ewes cheese and she is fine - it's the cream and ice-cream that gets to her as, just like me, she cannot resist it!
Now that you mention your wife, I think it was you! Just wanted to mention that I recently found something even better than the yakult I'd been taking for IBS - aloe vera drink. Have been taking it for a week now & the symptoms have completely disappeared. Might be worth a try - you can get it at Health food stores, but it's a bit expensive that way. Or be a cheapskate like me and buy it from Tescos - up here thay sell it in the international food section (comes from Korea).
Cheers BB - I will have a look round, as the international section in my local Tesco is rather limited, but the one near work in Uxbridge is rather more extensive.
Alpro do a good soya cream, you wouldn't really know the difference...and most supermarkets sell kosher ice cream which is non-diary
Didn't think of the Kosher option H. I'll take a look, but I don't think my local Tesco will stock it, they have to cater for the local bandits - the Stella and meat-pie shelves are usually extensive though!
