Great bit of business for Millwall if this is accepted, but hope that Pompey get out of this mess and keep hold of their players.

Are all these clubs (us included) doing you a favour by bidding for your players, or are they acting like vultures?

    vultures!
there seems to be potential buyers in the wings and hopefully its a matter of time untill some money is pumped in. worst case scenario is deadline day an ownership deal is a long way off then we'll have to sell cheap. taking two bright young prospects off of team with an 18 man squad could never be classed as "doing a favour" however if you have any interest for ben haim, kana, kitson etc then be my guest!

  5. Rather cheesed off that Millwall have £1.4m ready to splash out, yet would not part with their cash for problem-child Puncheon.

You need to get at least two clubs interested and play them off against each other. £1.6M should be a minimum target.

The problem is that PFC will need the money up-front and not in phased payments. If the deal fails it will probably be because of that.

I think you raise a very relevent point 3rd eye. Very few clubs - even the big uns - put all the money up front. It is usually linked to appearances & various otheer conditions. After 2/3 yrs it is quite common for monies still to be outstanding. No good at all to pompey.

Could you pay the money into a Monaco bank account, in the name of 'Rosie47' - that would be handy..........

I like that Wooperts! On a serious note, doesn,t it make you sick that people like Redknapp (butter wouldn,t melt in my mouth) have milked money that should have been with the club. Me thinks he is looking a little less cocksure from Southwick Crown Court and I am left with the feeling that the more he says the bigger the hole he is digging for himself. He epitimises all that has been wrong at Fratton for a very long time. Little more than a spiv, on the make & on the take.
I don,t suppose he will go to prison, but I reckon the fine will make his eyes water!

Didn't he say to a reporter that he could leave 100 grand laying around and not notice?

Next England Manager? Seems a lot of people don't mind whatever he may or may not have done.

On the subject of Harry, I have no idea whether he will be found guilty or not, but the last high profile manager I remember being proved to have taken a 'bung' was George Graham and he received a ban from football management at any level, anywhere. Lester Piggott was sent to prison for tax avoidance and, one would argue, was far higher profile being a national icon and by lauded by royalty.
If Harry loses this case it will be be curtains for him.

He's using the Ken Dodd, "I'm just a helpless buffoon" defence.

I don't think even he can talk himself out of this one! However, I do believe we would also lose the best qualified man in the country to manage the national side. From purely a football point of view, his philosophy is sound as are his tactics most of the time and players respect and listen to him. Just when we need a leader for team England, it looks as though it will never be allowed to happen.
