No, just Modders thanks. I believe Ivan is CURRENTY better than Walker. VDV wouldn't fit into our system. Bale, maybe, if he wasn't another diving little felchard and we didn't have Mata.
With all due respect we've had some great players down the years and even now. I admit growing up I envied Arsenal and to a lesser extent West Ham because of the players they had, but Spurs have always been inferior to us in my time supporting Chelsea (Mid 90s onwards)
Well, we don't seem to be doing too badly for a team of inferiors, and I'd take them every time over anything the other teams around us have. The only players I would take from the other teams are:- Mata Aguero RvP Kompany Other than those, I would not want to upset the balance of our current squad, which I think is more than proving its worth. It's not usually simply about having the "best" players, but having the best blend of players.
HIAG, I'll put my point across now. You have an inferior squad to City, United and Chelsea. Our team isn't performing/finishing teams off under AVB because our striker couldn't finish a breath mint, you are playing wonderful football and have deserved all of your wins, does not mean you have a better squad on paper though .
That may or may not be the case. Player for player, I am sure you can find stats to back up your claim. However, a lot of our players are coming of age, such as Modric, Bale, Walker, THudd and Dawson, and others have never really had the chance to doing anything great, such as VDV, King, Kaboul, and Parker. It's unfair to match them up against players that have been collected by oligarch billionaires in their attempt to assemble great individual players. I truly believe we are merely one great striker away from glory glory days again. The reason why I wouldn't make too many changes to our team is because it is just that - a team, and a superbly balanced one, too. Yes, I would add the four players I mentioned, but I would work them into the squad slowly. Part of your problem has been that you look disjointed at times, not the well-oiled machine that you used to be, in former days. I dare say you will find your form again, and probably far sooner than I would wish, but it will still mean that Spurs has a fantastic football team, regardless of any paper exercise you may wish to conduct.
I'll agree with that . I also forgot about Parker, I'd definitely take him over Mikel but would prefer to have Romeu due to his ripe age!
Just out of interest mate how come you'd take Silva over Mata, and what is your opinion on Mata, like why does he rate so highly in your books?
Your Juggernaut has jack-knifed matey Wherever Maureen has gone he has spent loads of cash getting in the right players; A) You don't have the cash B) You pay **** wages C) The club doesn't have a high enough profile. Harsh I know but fair
I wouldn't take Silva over Mata. I like the look of Mata. For me, when he's played, he's looked like one of your best players. He finds space very easily, and when he finds that space he knows how to use it. He's agile and very tricky, and he seems to know when to release the pass, and you very rarely see him waste the ball. All in all, he's a very tidy and economical player. If you had 9 more like him, and if Torres was back to his old ways, you'd win the title hands down.
Meant to put Mata over Silva lol, and fair enough i pretty much agree with your opinion on him but the good thing is from our point of view is i think we're still yet to see the best of him because his been playing quality stuck on the left but his best position is in a Bale/Silva type role ( Free to roam around not stuck on the side ) and he should improve greatly playing in his best role
A nice analogy, but wishful thinking on your part, I believe. Wrong! We've proven on numerous occasions that we have the cash, if there is a need or the desire to spend it. Only in comparison to a very small number of clubs, and only because we have been playing by the "fair play" rules as part of our general business strategy. When the "fair play" rules kick in, the wages we pay will be as good as any one else's, and your ability to trump us on this issue alone will be gone forever. What utter bollocks! Our profile is as high as any club in Europe. Sure, we haven't been able to buy the glory that other clubs have bought, we have a world-wide fan-base, and there are even tribes in the deepest depths of the Amazon Rain Forest, without electricity for centuries, who have heard of the mighty Spurs. In fact, I am told that the word "juggernaut" is the name of an ancient Papua New Guinea god, whose face closely resembles that of the late great Bill Nicholson. No, it's merely harsh.
