Oxo was fully fit ..... in his own words

Discussion in 'Arsenal' started by Robin van Bergkamp, Jan 25, 2012.

  1. As reported in Metro

So it may appear that Arsene acted in haste and saw something no one else did and which the player himself never felt......

Perhaps having made such a momentous error in front of the gathered crowds, the tv cameras, not to mention contributing to our club's third straight loss of the year, poor Arsene was in fact angry at himself when he reacted to the crowds.

This doesn't look good nor does the thought process of our manager. It is worrying whichever way you look at this.

To be fair Wenger has come out and admitted he made a 'tactical error'.

Not many managers will do that.

Sorry Mr Bear, but you mind posting a link to that?

    Quite noble if he has.

He said pretty much straight away that nobody knew they would concede the goal. He admitted he made a mistake already, that is not the issue.

The issue is the lies and fantasy. He said 1st of all that he took him off because he saw him clutching his leg, then he said it was fatigue because he had been ill earlier in the week (or was it earlier in the day ?)

Then you get club captain RVP who wouldn't lie according to some confirming OXO was injured. I said it was bollox from the beginning and I stuck to it, now vindication <ok>

You better believe I will make sure everybody knows this too.

Don't be surprised to see an OXO statement saying he was injured and he would never question the boss <laugh>

  7. Ditto Mr Head

I wonder if the players who may have known that Arsene Wenger made a mistake, feel that his initial spin on the matter which was that he saw what no one else did, may have taken away some of the belief they have for him.

Im not sure what all the debate is about and why Wenger is being defended. We all know being a manager is difficult and his is particularly hard. But i DO NOT like it when people bull$hit and he so clearly did. I rather he just owned up to his mistake straight away and not fool the fans with his political jibe!!!!

So what happens 2 mins after having the last word and saying anyone can respond, the thread is closed <laugh>.

Apparently it is sorted by VP's statement, and no other views will be tolerated <laugh>

I just think about that Southampton guy. I am sure it was a confidential info from OXO and next day it is in the media. That is what you call a friend these days. A good lesson for the boy.

  12. Owning up to his error in good time would have won him much support. I think everyone appreciates that his task is not an easy one. Notwithstanding that he and the board have made it harder for himself, I believe Arsene would have got the fans behind him had he as you suggested not have to put a spin on the proceedings. In a way I can understand why he did. When in a hole it seems so much easier to dig deeper.

Doubt it. I've said before people seem to only fit into the two camps.

Wenger out and Wenger is God. If he had come out and said he made a mistake it would of still caused a similar uproar.

He made a mistake. Either way he would of got slammed. I think it's rather hopeful to think people would of been ok if he had admitted it.

I was drawn in by the title of this thread. "Oxo was fully fit ..... in his own words"
Now having read the opening post I feel cheated as there are no direct quotes from Oxo at all. His own words? Very misleading title.

    Good try though lol

  16. Ahh yes.....ummmnn mea culpa on that :emoticon-0111-blush

I was excited to have come by the link and got rather carried away with the title of the thread before I had read through to the end of the article. Please don't feel too cheated. I'll buy you a hot dog were we to collide somewhere in The Emirates or even outside of it :)

  18. I was thinking, just as well I wasn't selling on my account of the report.

No trade, no story here, no police required.

You do realise I imagine, what happens if you call der polzei out unnecessarily, don't you? :emoticon-0110-tongu

Thanks for the link. I'll have a look at it later. :emoticon-0100-smile
