You dont have to be found guilty in a court of law to be something. Does the OJ trial ring a bell? Hes already admitted using the words, the CPS is convinced theres enough evidence for a conviction, even if he weasels his way out (and he will), he will always be a racists and a serial scumbag to me.
Has he admitted using the words? I thought that was the whole reason why our players are having to give evidence in court, they were witnesses to what he said and he's denying it.
Why don't they just play the match behind closed doors, if its such a big deal problem??? FIFA does it all the time with countries that are in dispute or are troublesome. We should do the same with PL matches to set the example. But I suppose the FA has too much money to lose and it's all about the money and not the integrity of the game!
Yes he has, thats not even debatable. He said its been taken "in the wrong context". Hes says he was saying "anton, I never called you a F..B..C" while Ferdinand denies the argument took place, all the Chelsea players refused to confirm Terrys version too. Its clear Terry panicked after being told it was caught on TV, made up some lies and then found himself in it when Ferdinand knew he was lying. Terry would have been better off saying he was calling the ref a blind one. 2 things, his body language is clear that he wasnt denying anything and any person would just say "I never called you that", they wouldnt repeat the slur.
Itâs strange. Is it just me, but personally I find that this statement is a difficult one to know how to react toâ¦. Itâs obviously the responsible thing for both Chairmen to show some unity in coming together in trying to take some of the heat out of the game, and to head off any aggro. On the other hand though I really think that the hostile atmosphere the Rs fans generated last time around was a big part of the reason why some of the Chelsea players lost it and why we ended up winning the game. I just canât see that being the case this time around though.. The 12 o clock kick off time, and the fact that the game wasnât even sold out to members and season ticket holders and is now on general sale make me think that the atmosphere this Saturday just isnât going to be anything like it was last time round. Is there a way for the fans to show the same intensity of hostility on Saturday, but without it descending into outright abuse?? I really feel thereâs nothing wrong with going out of our way to make the Chelsea team feel as uncomfortable as possible. Weâve got to make home advantage count if we are to have any chance at all⦠Surely itâs possible to do that without being abusive and puerile??
The statement was the right thing to do. However, I could see it dampening down the vitriol that the corner of Loftus and Ellerslie send down, which in turn, will lessen the chances of us winning, as the "hate" filled atmosphere certainly swung it last time!
We should bear in mind that 99% of the two clubs supporters couldn't give a monkeys about the Ferdinand/Terry affair. Most fans (familys) go to the match for a nice day out so there will be lots of kids at the game, think they are very much in the thoughts of both clubs in making this statement. Nothing wrong with a hostile atmosphere, in fact we're going to need it to win, like last time. But if we bring the Drogba chants like last time then we're no better than their lot imo.
Sorry Norway ,but i have to disagree..If everyone abides by it, we will get smashed 4-Nil Also as for the JT comment...He admitted he said it, but it was out of context To judge for yourself just visit you tube and made your own decisions... Personally..I think he's been caught in a lie. I also wonder why the likes of Drogba, Alex, Esiien, Anelka etc all want transfers....? Do they have something in common and / or do they know something in common..? And just to set the record straight, before anyone want to call me racist, please note i am of mixed race and it couldnt be further from the truth...... Thats my 2 cents worth...!
The statement refered to racist remarks the way I read it, and this is what my first comment was about. Check my post above (#27) for my take on it. Re Terry, I think he's guilty as hell! But I've learnt my lesson after Faurlin-gate, the way we detested everybody who said we were guilty (lets be fair, we got away cheap) before the judgement was made, I'm goint to give Terry / Chelsea fans the benefit of doubt until it has been proven in court/by FA. Which it will in due time.
