Hopefully this will make a difference to the tactical play as sometimes it seems as if Fletcher doesn't have a clue how to change things around when its obviously not working out on the pitch !
Well I thought bringing on Lennox and Sutherland was a genius move - especially after that lovely pass from Lennox for Sutherland to set up Hemmings. Still I am happy about John Deehan being selected better than Colin Lee in my opinion. Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16716110.stm
Deehan will have to spend a few weeks learning Fletcher Speak..............before he will be able to converse on a meaningful level. This could be a good move for Deehan, Director of Football is among many of the jobs he has done..........having been out of the game for over a season he will be keen to do well.........and maybe get a longer appointment.
I agree hobo..............bringing on Lennox and Sutherland to try something different was a good idea...........3 minutes to go wasn't it...........10 or 15 minutes would have given them a more meaningful opportunity to put their stamp on the game..............what I hear is that Lennox looked an interesting player.............even though this was his very first League match.
Totally underwhelmed I'm afraid. The target was obviously Sean O'Driscoll, and the bank should have been broken to secure him before the Forest assistant post even became available. It's been a long time since John Deehan was involved in the important aspects of football management, so how can he "mentor" someone when he probably needs someone to tell him whats been going on in modern football? As bad an idea as Mariner for me.
Yep signed back on. Still haven't reactivated my Pasoti account, can't see myself lasting long on there without being shot as a traitor for questioning certain people, but I have seen some disturbing things lately and wanted to have my say again.
That's all you need, another gobby jock.............. I really don't know anything about this guy but there again I've never really followed players or other teams to know much about a lot of other players and managers. I suppose he can't do much harm and in fairness to Fletcher I think over the last 10 games things have looked remarkably brighter on the pitch and results wise. We already know we have a weakish squad so to get the fight going in their bellies a bit has to be credited to him if you are going to kick him when things don't go well.
Where would the world be today without a few gobby Jocks . I put the improvement down to the fact that O'Driscoll was assisting Fletcher free of charge. If this was the case then hopefully O'Driscoll wrote it all down for Ya Know Fletch, in which case Deehan is not required. If he didn't write it all down clearly for Ya Know Fletch, then we could be back in trouble.
I'll contemplate your first sentence and get back to you. I just hope that this is not judged on the next match alone and it is given a few games before people start shouting about it. Port Vale won't be easy whatever the management combination.
With Deehans limited area of put in.............I wonder where we go from here.............the area of tactics, team selection and changing things from the dugout are not in his spec..........or so it seems. With no attacking options being evident..........did Fletcher come with the hope of 0-0 result. Disappointing that Lennox was given no time at all to influence the match. Sutherland probably came with his bags packed for the shorter journey to Blackpool..........his heart and effort must of really been in the game...........whilst Hourihane isn't even in the squad. Shame that Feeney failed a fitness test from a calf problem,so Fletcher says,......... others were saying Flu symptoms...........would that of changed the game plan I doubt it. We have one of the weakest attacking options in the League and also for many years at PAFC. Reached the 50 goals against mark in the League today.........many of course from our Peter Reid start to the season. Today I hope it showed how desperate we are for a goal scorer...... to Brent..........Walton probably wasn't really fit enough today...........needed to rest the shoulder.
