http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7452221/? Interesting developments regarding the future of Rosicky and as the article says his agent wants a meeting with the boss. As we all know, Rosicky has never really been the same after that long injury. While he is a neat player that can be good when on top form, he is not a player that to be frank does much in terms of end product. He has not scored in the league for over two years for a start. He is a busy player that has a lot of energy. But at the same time, I feel him leaving now will not help. I doubt we would get a replacement and with our injuries problems, we might actually need Rosicky to cover for a few games. There is also the hope that he could find form of 2007-08 as futile as that might be. Letting him leave in the summer might be the better route, but with Euro 2012 coming up, Rosicky might want to move to find some game time. That tournament could be his last. IMO, we should try and get him to stay until the summer. I personally would like to see Ramsey be taken out of the firing line, so Rosicky could get his chance to play at the point of a midfield 3 of Song,Arteta and Rosicky. I hope he stays but you could understand his reasons, if he wants to leave.
If he leaves we will need another midfielder I think. Hope he does though because he just does not see to be good enough, is it 2 years since his last league goal? That said I would wish him well if he does go.
You are right, Rosicky doesn't quite offer much in an attacking sense anymore. He never looks like scoring anymore. I remember the days when he had a wicked right foot.....Anyways, no point selling him now as that would leave us short. We need him until the end of the season..
I agree that there seems little point in letting him go as we need him now seeing that we are unlikely to bring in anyone else before this time next week. Does Arsene really believe we can get 4th place with the squad or will our performance end up like last year again and will the management come out and say they bought no one because there was no one to buy. There never seems to be anyone that we need to buy, even in the summer. The people in charge of our buying scares me. They have no vision.
if you have something discreet to say, i'd advise you PM it to everyone on the board rather than making it publically available. Or at least make it obvious you're being discreet. I'd suggest this smiley: as there is no discreet smiley.
I would hope that everyone on the board would be discreet about me discreetly telling them about discreet rumours on Twitter
This is all too discreet for me....Getting back on topic, we have a good spine now and players like Frimpong, Miyaichi and OXO coming through, so Rosicky is surplus to requirements. What we need is 1 or 2 quality attacking players and we are good to go!
I heard a strong rumour a while back that Rosicky wasn't actually injured. Allegedly he was addicted to Cocaine or something and this showed up in an internal drugs test, so the club gave him support but kept him out of the squad for over a year, to ensure that it wasn't picked up by the FA and his and the clubs reputation tarnished. No evidence, but I'd appreciate it, if you could all be discreet about it. ps - I wonder what Jayram would think about the rumour...
I know what you mean that why Wenger won't sell him in Jan. However, with Wilshere coming back and Frimpong, OXO and Ramsey to accomodate, unless you are outstanding i can't see why he would keep him. Remember we already have Arteta that pretty much does what he does but better. All we need is a special player in the middle and another striker and we should have a squad that'll have a better chance to win a trophy!
Rosicky is a solid player who is a good man to have in the squad. He passes well and keeps things ticking over. He doesn't give the ball away very often either. I say keep him and get rid of the dross mentioned above.
Id rather we develop our players like Frimpong, OXO, Lansbury and Miyaichi. I've seen Lansbury do as good as a job as Rosicky yet he disappeared. At least with Lansbury he would get better and is a true blooded Arsenal man, Rosicky is neither and doing nothing special at that...
There are plenty of players I'd want to lose before Rosicky but should he want to go I'd never begrudge him or stand in his way. He's a useful player but not one that can't be replaced.
There are very few players that we have that can be replaced. If nothing else the last two transfer windows have shown us how few players, that are Arsenal quality, exist. Finding someone good enough to come to Arsenal but not good enough for us to be out-bid by the rich teams is very very difficult.
