Respectfully, you said Jayram was banned because of complaints of his style from Arsenal users. How many and surely he had a right to a defence. Was he afforded one or was the ruling made on the basis of complaints received. Were the complaints investigated? If you did investigate them you may discover that others too abuse Jayram. Perhaps he and others here should lodge our complaints with you too. How many more will you ban on this basis?

I ask again - did you investigate the complaints and what investigations are these? Was Jayram allowed to defend himself against these complaints? I think it is only fair and balanced that we know.

    Sincerely

    RvB

look - I realise you don't patrol our Board.

However Piskie has offended many for ages.

There was a discussion about his 'team' all complaining re-Jayram (after ensuring he had got wound up over all the rubbish spouted.)
    they got what they wanted.

I see that you have locked other threads too concerning this and related matters. Why is it that we are not able to discuss this? Are you given therefore to removing discussions that are not to your liking or indeed discomfort of another moderator? Have you investigated the basis of the discontent on this and other boards?

I await your response to this and the points raised in my previous post and would like to assume that you may give thought to fair and open discussion. Why would this be offensive?

Some people really need to calm down.

    It's a football forum for ****s sakes.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Piskie, the mods generally do a good job and as cyprussy has stated PM him if you have a complaint about the mods on this board. Or you could just grow up and ignore the posters you don't like.

I'm at work today, so I haven't had time to read through any of the threads.I just want to be clear, as syd has mentioned, that I neither asked for or took the decison to ban jayram. What I can tell you is that we have received numerous complaints about him and we have tried to engage with him via pm over a course of months to ask him to tone down the attitude which seems to annoy so many posters. Unfortunately, this was met with derision. On each occassion and in the end the site admin simply grew tired of the complaints about him and took the decision to ban him. I've always been consistent on this board about ensuring that everyone is entitled to their opinions. So I do not accept that I have tried to silence critics. I may not agree with them, but that is my right as a fan to counter a view that I don't agree with. As for my moderation, I think that has always been fair. I always respond to PMs about problems that people have (I may not see every comment on every thread, you need to PM me if there is a problem you need help with) and I've always worked with all parties involved to try and find amicable solutions.I don't really have the time today to sit here and respond to every comment about this issue as I am at work and I'm typing this on my phone, but I am more than happy to get back to people's PMs later this evening if they have any issues about my moderation that they would like to discuss.

So essentially he's been sin binned?

Perhaps mods should be given yellow and red cards to help keep order :D

PISKIE, I don't have a problem with you, we disagree on how Arsenal is run and it's stewardship, that is fine, but I cannot accept what you as moderators (plural) have done.

I cannot see any validity to Jayram getting banned. Yes he creates debate, yes his opinions are different but they are NEVER offensive. He defends himself and his view admirably and he often gets abused. If people do not like his views they should either ignore his posts/threads or argue against them, it is that simple.

I couldn't care less if you got 1000s of complaints, if they are not valid complaints they should all be dismissed. Jayram has no obligation to have the same view as everyone else and most of Jayram's views are agreed with by many board members.

I have never complained about a user, why would I ? People are entitled to write what they want as long as it isn't offensive. But to ban someone because he is essentially honest enough to admit the problems and encourage discussion beggars belief. so what if he comes across pessimistic ? So bloody what ?

I agree, this whole thing is really really childish. I disagree with Piskie on pretty much everything at the moment but I haven't got all melodramatic and accused him of violating free speech.

  19. Ditto Mr Head

I'm surprised people actually complain. Why run to daddy? Just grow up and ignore what you don't like or say your peace and leave it at that.

Was Jayram offered an opportunity to put forward his side? From what Piskie has said

it seems he wasn't allowed to defend himself.

I agree others like Tufnell and Mr Head in that Jayram has endured abuse yet he has himself not complained. This is a two way street. It's called debate. If there are those who feel unable to engage in long term debate then as I said, simply make your point and leave the thread. Go back if you wish but let others have their say. If offensive language is used then have a ban on such expressions. No one wants to be name-called or abused in this manner. I haven't seen Jayram do this and only perhaps taking the bait when provoked.

sounds like he's had plenty of time to defend himself, but chose not to.
