More than Spurs have in the last 2 decades though Even West Ham have got close to winning a trophy of significance in recent years
Westham nearly won the Cup, 06. Spurs have not won a decent Cup for three decades; and a major trophy for six decades
we won the fa cup in 91 that's not 6 decades and we've won the Carling cup twice since then, not 3 decades
Well done I wonder how many more trophies Arsenal and Chelsea have won in that time, not enough fingers on one hand to count
Decent cup; I meant FA cup... 90s 00s 10s... Major trophy: League or CL: 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s. Carling does not count. In 07 and 08, I did not even bother going to the final.
But how many teams currently in the EPL have won anything of note, ever? Not many. Surely, that's just one reason why true football fans would want Spurs to win the EPL? Or would you rather have £ity buy and bully their way to glory?
It's not about whos won what, Mourinho needs a big transfer budget wherever he goes and has to have everything his way and he has to be in control, Tottenham can't supply his needs/wants
Most "true" football fans know that money has always played a huge part in success. The FA let Sky take control and now thanks to the "Premier League" there is no money outside the top flight. Hence why the only way you can get promoted is by spending loads. Clubs like Swansea and Blackpool have done it via good management but they haven't gone up automatically, because the clubs with £££ had larger squads. If Leicester don't go up this year which is looking likely, I'd bet my house on them getting automatic promotion next season, if Leeds had the investment they'd have been promoted to the Prem about 2 years ago, back-to-back promotion would easily have been obtainable for a club like Leeds with financial backing, just as it was for Norwich and could be Southampton Go and look at the Championship table. The two wealthiest clubs Southampton and West Ham sit 1st and 2nd, once Chelsea usurp Spurs it will be the same in the Prem. Crawley in League 2 are by a mile the wealthiest and will be promoted, Plymouth are broke and will could be a non-league club soon, we're talking about a club that was in the Championship and beat Wolves (who are now Premier League) in their promotion season to the Prem not so long ago Wolves, Stoke, Wigan, Fulham, QPR had good financial backing in the Championship and would not be where they are now if it weren't for that reason. Things really changed for Spurs when ENIC took over in 2003/2004. Up until then you were midtable dross fighting relegation every now and then. The same applies for Chelsea ala Harding. The deluded fans that slate City and Chelsea need to get their heads out of the sand. I'd rather City win it because I remember the days when they were in the 3rd division still getting sell out 30,000 crowds at Maine Road (which was more than most Premier League clubs) and then having to watch their bitter rivals United win the treble and lift trophy after trophy. I would have hated to be a City fan in Manchester in the 90s and to a lesser extent 80s, imagine growing up with United fans en masse giving it large every year. You Spurs fans have had it bad with Arsenal down the years but at least you were in the same division as them and got one over on them every now and then.
I would rather see City splash money and win the league 1000 times than ever see Spurs get their claws on that trophy.
DL, don't get me wrong, I'd rather City won the title than United, if only to watch SAF explode! However, if we can't win it, I'd rather you won it, as I have stated before, on another thread. Drogs - you bitter monkey
This They have some of the most pompous and arrogant fans as it is, and a misplaced sense of superiority, this despite being the 3rd, arguably 4th best London team since the 90s. I can't imagine how they'd be if they actually had some success to shout about No way, I would never want to see West Ham or Spurs win anything significant in my lifetime. In hindsight I am actually glad Liverpool beat West Ham in the FA Cup in 06
Sorry HIAG, but rivals are rivals. I hate United but I'd rather see them win the league than you or Arsenal.
Oh, I could never want Arsenal to win anything. It cut me to the core every time they finished above us. The team that I want most to lose after Arsenal is 'Pool, merely because I cannot stand their arrogant fans. As for Chelsea, I've never really seen you as rivals, not in the same way as Arsenal are. In fact, you are the side that I would probably have supported, if I had not been a Spurs fan since the age of 2, growing up in Tottenham!
It will not happen Mourinho will go to Germany the only league he hasn't managed in. Chelsea are under a new revolution with AVB it's time to stick by him this club needs stability. Let AVB build his own Chelsea team and see where it takes us. Even though Jose was very successful, which I'm great full for, at Chelsea you all know why he was sacked because JM didn't play the style of football Roman graved and RA got nervous that the team wouldn't win the UCL trophy. And also JM wasn't happy that he didn't have full control of certain management aspects. I am confident that AVB can win us Chelsea the Champions League this season especially after Man City and Man United are not in it and if we can avoid Barcelona until the final we'll have a great chance.
I have no view either way. What Chelsea has or hasn't done really is of no concern to me. The reason I get embroiled in debate with you lads is because you seem to have made it your business to have a pop at us. And because you jealously covet our players.
Oh, come off it, Drogs. At least be honest with yourself if you cannot be honest with me! You'd take Bale and Walker, and very likely VDV at a shot.
