Just been on SMB and there's an article on a rumour about LG being our new sponsors.
Apparantly it's popping up everywhere, Facebook, twitter etc.
Also a possible new name for the SOL, the LG arena ?
Sounds good to me like if true.

Let's just hope they bring in a **** load of cash aswell. If they are our new sponsors, I will buy one of their fridges. Mine is too big for my new kitchen, so need to buy another. Old one is the beer fridge now :D Can fit 5 cases of beers in there now, just enough for the weekend.

Aye. Two Korean companies merged. Funny enough one was called Lucky and the other was called Goldstar. Hence Lucky Goldstar, They needed to shorten the name a little bit and went for LG. The L is the first letter of Lucky and the G is the first letter of Goldstar. Hence LG. Anyone need any more useless information, ask away. <laugh>

Would be good if so to have an international sponsor like that - good bit of international publicity and shows we have been recognised as a global franchise (like most PL teams will be in the next 5 years).

Tombola is a bit naf to be honest - Bingo isn't the coolest of industries let's be honest!

Very true, but someone is making a few pennies out of it. And I don't think TV advertising are complaining either.

I heard this yesterday from a very good source (I mentioned on the new sponsor thread from yesterday). I hear it's an absolute done deal, and that its at least 4 times the size of the Tombola deal.

LG is a subsidiary of Samsung, I believe?

LG as Sponsor and Adidas as the shirt manufacturer, already interested to see what our new kits will look like but more importantly than that wonder how much more we will be getting per year

LG and Samsung are Korean rivals, not the same company!

Personally I wouldn't mind selling the stadium rights if it got more revenue. End of the day the team is more important than stadium name and we would still call if SoL anyway.

As Bumblebore said, if we could incorporate LG into the existing name everyone would be happy.
