2001 - 2011 Nostalgia

Woo hoo!.. remember when we had this talented & over-achieving squad! Ended 4th in 2001 - 2002 and 3rd in 2002 - 2003..

Who out of our CURRENT squad do you think would get into the 2001 - 2003 seasons team???

Would Jose get in over Bernard hard to say but I dont know it was a good team we had back then

 

One person who would have got in who is yet to be a toon player is Ronald Vargas

 

I liked Bernard but he was a natural left-winger apparently.. it's a tough one, both two very talented LB's. Bernard was prone to the odd mistake or two but usually he was consistent(same with Enrique).. in terms of achievement and experience Bernard would take it but my heart just says Enrique!

Very true I love both maybe they could play a half each

as said above Ronald Vargas would get into that team easily

 

I think Bernard was highly underrated, but he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Enrique. Jose's one of the best in the world.

 

Speed and Lee were awesome though! So it's hard to see if Tiote would get in...

 

This. I liked Bernard but he isnt as good as Jose (who is still only 25, in theory his best years are ahead of him. Destined to be a part of that magnificent spain team)

 

Tiote isn't proven enough to be able to overtake the other two at the moment, in a season we will see

 

Aye, I partnered Speed & Tiote, might not have the most flair but nothing would get past them, Solano & Ben Arfa to provide the creativity for Shearer & Bellamy! Was temtped to put Barton in the team too. His crosses for Shearer <drool> (cant be bothered to find if there really is a drool smiley)

 

Probably Tiote for Lee, as Lee was past it by then and left in the 01/02 season for Derby County.

Tiote hasn't been playing for us long but he just edges out Speed coz I'm scared to leave him out.

 

I liked Bernard but Jose is the better of the two.

 

Lee is a legend, but we musn't forget that he was sold half way through the 2001/02 season

 

Bernard was good, but I'd go for Enrique out of the two... and that's about it. We had a strong team back then

 

This, we're still a relegation team atm, but with a few good additions we can get better than that.
