Sounds like the name of a great 60s/70s comedian double act!

    is Bramble actually linked ?

I would actually LOVE Titus back if its true. Yes, I realise whats happened recently. However, he would be an outstanding CB for us.

might be a good thing to have titus for a couple of games to show our defenders how to make even more mistakes.

Exactly what i was thinking. When he's good he's very good but considering our defenders keep making individual mistakes do we really need someone who is renouned for making individual mistakes. tbf we could sign worse players.

To be fair to Titus that's a while ago now. But he's too good to sign for us at the moment. Pie in the sky.

Deary me. Won both Wigan AND Sunderland's fans player of the season I'm quite sure. He's been OUTSTANDING for the past 4 years now. Yes, before he was prone to making mistakes however he's become a rather good CB.

I think if you want a CB capable of making a mistake a game, Tommy Smith is your man. His frame isn't anywhere NEAR big enough. How easily did he get shoved off the ball for Leeds 3rd goal.......... !

Smith MAY become good in the next 2 or 3 years, but he surely needs to bulk up a decent amount first.

I agree with Gus. We need to be bringing in young players in that can grow into the team rather than looking for short term solutions.
As for Young Tommy Smith i think he is a player that will make mistakes but is still young enough to learn and i would be quite happy to see him along side a more vocal defender who can help him through the game.

He's come into the first team picture at the wrong time. You need a dependable defender alongside you and we have possibly the worst 2 CB's we've ever had in terms of reading of the game, a football brain, and positioning in Delaney and Sonko both have the physical attributes. How stupid Keane and the board were not to offer McAuley a new contract, we would be nowhere near where we are now if he had signed.

I would normally agree, however we're in DESPERATE need of a short term fix at CB. Obviously, we're after a longer term solution, but at the minute our CB area is catastrophic at best !!! Need a new CB ASAP.

The words 'barrel' and 'scraping' spring to mind here. For goodness sake guys, I would have thought you should be looking forwards not backwards. Do you lot actually WANT to be relegated ! <doh>

With the lack of business we've done so far, you would think so.
