I was watching the African Cup of Nations last night and saw this guy who has perhaps football's greatest name.

    I give you

He plays for Botswana who are now the team I'm backing - some of their players play for a Botswanan club called BMC (Botswana Meat Commission<laugh><ok>)

But it got me thinking about a term used when I was young that you don't hear anymore - were folk round your way ever referred to as "BotswanaNapper"?

Is this term racist? It certainly sounds it although it was used in a slightly different context when I was young.

For the next two games when they get inevitably humbled, I'm a proper BotswanaNapper.

My gran brought me back a Spanish national strip in the early eighties from her holidays and, in the younger days when you borrowed a player's name whilst playing with your mates, I was Ufarte <ok>

Slightly off topic - on the American sitcom Cheers, one of the people listed in the credits is named ,Mary FUKUTO ( I can't help but break it down to 3 very deliberate syllables ) - but imagine the fun you could have on such occasions as being stopped by the police and asked for your name.
