Everest was still unconquered and we didn't know what a banana was? 20 ***s were 9p and it was a tanner to get in at Chelsea and threpence for a programe. We had rickets, tuberculosis, asthma and smog, no fluoride in tooth paste. Good old days
Bobby's response to his twitter messages: Bobby Tambling has asked me to pass on the following message to all CFC fans: 'I am overwhelmed with all the love & support I am getting from all the loyal Chelsea fans. It def perked me up. The Chelsea fans are the best fans in the world. It is my privilege to be part of the massive Chelsea family. I want to thank each and everyone of them from the bottom of my heart and I hope some day to be well again and back in my home that is Stamford Bridge with all my family. Love, Bobby"
Well the only tweets he would've seen were the ones Rick Glanvill recieved. I imagine that only Chelsea fans will be following Rick Glanvill.
Thats when I started following Chelsea - appalling refereeing decisions; Astles headed goal should've stood but awesome save from Osborne from Osgood. Classic cup-tie football in torrid conditions and when the crowd was more passionate about the game. The following Saturday we played away at the Hawthorns and promptly handed their Jacksy to them 3-0...funny game.
Woops! I got sidetracked by the cup-tie action; Bobby Tambling outstanding servant to the club, here's hoping he has a speedy recovery....ICON!
Seeing Tambling make a little speech at HT yesterday was first class! The Bridge went wild with "One Bobby Tambling"
