If we cn for him what Bolton did for Sturridge (and vise versa) last year, I recon we'd all be happy!

It's quite annoying the game comes before the court case in regards to the handshake because in one way Antons in the right because why should he shake someones hand who racially abused him but in another way his in the wrong and why act like a little baby and not shake someones hand who you don't actually know if he was racist or not. I could understand if it was Evra and Suarez because that was a word vs a word but this is a video vs a word. And the other r in houston if you boys done for Lukaku what Bolton did to sturridge we'd have to start liking qpr and owe them a debt <laugh>

Massive difference between disliking a local rival, for whatever reasons, and generalising on all Chelsea fans. It's been upwards of 15-years since I lived in west London but I always had Chelsea mates at school and work. Don't you have any?

Dunno who did the modding, but bloody good job.... Tempting fate, but this is actually turning into an enjoyable thread, even if some seem to be trying not to walk on broken glass :)

Re Anton and Terry, honestly I think the clubs should stay out of it to an extent. This was an allegedly personal attack from one person to another, and any contact between the two might affect the trial? Honestly, I'm not sure that 2 people that will be facing each other in court (I assume) should be on the same football pitch a few days before the trial. I'd be happy for one or both to develop a niggling injury on Friday evening and miss the match.

And, reading what I've just written, I think it's clear I keep changing my mind on the issue.

No he's not. He's quite young IIRC. Haven't seen his posts for a while though. Seriously MVR relax a bit. It's just a game. Does anyone else think the fun has gone out of being a football fan?

Looks like Anton will definitely be playing, just seen on the beeb that QPR have urged him to shake hands. I agree with you houston, it should be up to the players (predominantly Anton).

And yes, this is quite an enjoyable thread! We can all act like adults after all .

Well, I find the fun in listening to motor mouths/people who talk the talk! You are right though, derby games shouldn't be TO hostile, not hostile enough to scare people i.e. kids. My little brother was 11 when we played you in '08. I've never been so scared in my life walking towards fulham broadway with him!

Meh, you were just scared we'd beat you :D

Seriously, I heard it wasn't much fun that day, and I really hope the same crap doesn't flare up again.

    I hope not, i'm taking my two little girls ( 8 & 9 ) they love football.
Don't really want them to see the crap that happened in times gone by.
All for a great atmosphere and singing, funny chants etc...
But violence? Does that still go on in this day and age?
You've got to be a complete idiot if you par-take in that.

You'll be alright, police will be very much on top of this one I should expect. Especially with the events surrounding the fixture too.

I'm surprised to hear that tbf. I guess there's always gonna be a touch of machismo attached to following any team, but we have never been about this. For me anyway.

The real problem for me is when the "bants" turn nasty and into outright threats. I've stood on terraces with "crews" (ffs crews lol) "running" each other when all I wanted to do was watch a football match. And it was chaos. No order or control. Anything could have happened. And in Brussels and Sheffield the absolute worst did happen. That's why idiocy has to be nipped in the bud. These things need to be stopped before they "begin".
