No final for Palace, some of their players might be up for grabs! Not sure we'd get Clyne or Zaha but Ambrose and a couple of the others could be useful additions, what do you reckon?
Scannel looks a bright prospect indeed. Ambrose has premiership experience though, an eye for goal and would probably be cheaper...
No end product from Zaha, he looks no better than De Ridder. Think a few posters need reminding that Butterfield is injured and playing a 17 year old Stephens in a high pressured championship game after only 10 minutes of cup football would be a huge risk to the team and the lad personally.
Yeah, for five minutes. He's clearly not match fit. Thought Zaha showed a lot of promise actually, he's only 19 after all. Not the finished article but I can see why big clubs are watching him.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo.../Jack-Butland-wanted-Southampton-Everton.html Being linked with Brum keeper today ......
Really, a headline entitled Every Club in England After Butland would probably suffice at this point.
I thought Zaha looked good last night. I think his delivery will improve with experience and he has no trouble in beating a man. Unfortunately we have no chance of getting him or Clyne (who has looked pretty average the few times I've watched him), only player from Palace who I think has looked good apart from those two in the few times I've seen them is their LB, Parr I think it is.
i agree, when i have seen them i think Parr has been very underrated - probably as he isnt english he doesnt get hyped!! wouldnt want him near a penalty spot though....
come on, some of them are quite good. Zaha looks decent and Ambrose has a great eye for goal (why is he not in the prem?), not sure what the fuss is about clyne (agree rb not needed anyway!) and scannel looks ok - but by all means they have at least 1 player that could add to the quality of our team! personally i think Palace are the closest to us in terms of bringing through decent youngsters at a championship level and giving them a chance, although their catchment area of Croydon etc is bound to have some gems in it
Not sure I'd want us to sign Zaha even if we had a chance. He has amazing ball skills and pace, but doesn't have much awareness of the play around him. He does get fouled a lot though and Palace play to that. Doesn't seem the sort of team player that we go for.
Think RB will be a position we try and strengthen in the summer. Butterfield's contract expires then and I can see Stephens being loaned out for a lot of next season to get regular games. The question will be whether we are signing someone to replace Richardson so he moves to backup or whether we sign a backup to Richardson, and that will completely depend on which league we are in next year
