Pompey fans - according to David Lampitt this is a short term problem

If that is correct, and there is no reason to believe otherwise - what scheme do you think PFC could come up with to appeal to the supporters to raise the funds needed now?

What makes you think that? Lampitt has lied/been very economical with the truth in the past, why not again?

You have 5 years of CVA payments to make, don't own a training ground, owe former owners money, only 12k home fans turning up to Fratton Park on average, two months behind in tax, a tiny squad with little value, on the verge of a points deduction and possible liquidation etc etc

No legitimate businessman would go near Pompey, which is why you have been passed from crook to crook since 1998. Once a business is in that loop it is extremely difficult to get out.

You didn't actually answer the question - which was aimed at Pompey fans btw.

It is futile for Pompey fans to try to "raise the funds needed now" the sums required are vast, the club is mortally wounded and it is only a matter of time before it is liquidated. Plan B and starting again in the lower leagues is really your best option.

Hard to face the truth? I note you didn't take issue with anything I said.

You forgot to mention that your for we owner an manager are both currently on trial following tax evasion charges.

The simples fact is which is hard to take is Pompey might not be here next month.

Now that the WUP has been sent, I'm not even sure if it is possible to go back into administration to avoid it...

That actually isn't anything to do with the club though Rickie. It may have happened while they were both at Pompey but it is between them and HMRC. Mandaric & Redknapp should have taken a leaf out of Goldman Sachs and Vodafone's books and offered HMRC a sweetheart deal.

The sad fact is that Redknapp took money that should have been left with the club. The whole thing stinks & says everything that has, unfortunately, been wrong at your club for a very long time. A whole string of chancers, on the make and on the take, for a many years.
As for Lampitt, I think he fits in very easily with what has gone on before & I think it is shameful that the manager only finds out about the HMCR situiation from the Portsmouth Evening News. If I were a pompey fan I would not believe a word Lampitt says - he fits a well known pattern.

Not too bad to be honest. 1.6M between 12000 is less than 150 quid each.

I am willing to pay £25 for Westwood's bell, on the understanding that he doesn't buy another one before the SMS fixture in April. <peacedove>

    Nooooo - not the bugle!

It cracks me up when I hear the bugle. That's one of the best bits of match day.

Have Pompey fans considered buying tickets and turning up to games at Fratton Park? That will raise some money, little effort required plus you get to watch some football. At the moment only 12,000 Pompey fans on average are going to home games.

When we were in the mire we didn't get as many through the gates as we would have had normally either. Fans are only human(yes that means you Skates as well:laugh::laugh::laugh:) and we lost a lot who preferred to miss the shambles and do other things. For them to have 12,000 regularly showing up is not that bad when all things are considered. State of club, state and size of the ground, and a struggling team will always deflate the ardour of some.

It isn't down to the fans that they have had a list of owners not prepared to either pay their way or improve the ground. At least we tried to improve things by building St Mary's. Pompey had only over paid prima donnas and have paid and still are paying the price.

Why it is even possible that some don't like standing/sitting near that smelly, noisy shopkeeper with the weird clothing.

A full house at every game would be great but these fans have had more than their fair share of footballs uglier side and many just now wish to stay away.
It's a crying shame but that's life and human nature. I really hope a few will relent and come back because every penny will help atm. I've just been too depressed to post anything for the past couple of weeks, especially with lots of 'good advice' on our board coming from the darkside (I will differentiate between genuine well wishwishers and idiots by the way) Let's hope something turns up soon, not that it's looking very likely atm.
