We should have won 6-0, but yet again we played terrible and only got 3-1. It's just not good enough, we should be coming out of these games with 5-0 or 6-0!
3-1 didn't flatter us at all,But for a lack of concentration at the back in the 92nd minute we would have had a clean sheet,it took the gloss off the game slightly. In all fairness,Man United didn't deserve their goal,Before anyone says Liverpool won because Man United were poor.Liverpool won because they were better than United in all parts of the game.Is there a massive gap between the two clubs.I personally don't think so.Who has more room for improvement.Liverpool do.Have we got the owners to close the gap and overtake them, yes.I'm convinced the gap has been closed a little bit more.6th is not a fair reflection of Liverpool,Okay results do mean everything and Liverpools results mean they deserve to be 6th,but there is other factors like a lack of investment in the Liverpool squad in 2 years,no net spend since 2008.When this is addressed we will see the ''Real Liverpool''.NESV know it,Kenny knows it,and he has vowed to ensure that 6th is not good enough for Liverpool and has aimed to get Liverpool back amongst the elite in the near future. Can he do it,yes.Man City are curbing their spending,Man United are crippled with debt,Chelsea are over the hill,Arsenal are Arsenal and have never in their history had sustained succsess.Even if they win the league this year,I can't see them sustaining it.Thats why I'm convinced Kenny can take us back to the top in the forseeable future.
Ze Liverbird.I'm not taking it as a joke,We did kick them in the teeth when they were down, but I don't think we kicked them hard enough. We should have dropped our pants and **** on their faces and then pissed on them.Thats all the bastards deserve.
Liverpool champions of the world!!! You beat a united team who is not only having its worst season in 15 years, but also had there 2 key central defenders out, wow what a team, i agree you should have beaten us 5 or 6-0, but because you are not a man city, arsenal, chelsea or spurs you were not able to
It was Liverpool's Cup Final, you only need to see the pathetically delirious celebrations to realise that.
I got it, and it was a very good joke. Who knows, if NESV invest enough next year you might even be able to beat Blackpool, Everton or Wigan!* *That's another joke before anyone gets offended...
Why was ryan giggs saying there's nothing like beating Liverpool at anfield! its funny when you get beat at anfeild you all revert to the same crap about nothing caring about the Liverpool result. Reading some of the remarks before the game, seems like most man u fans were desperate to beat Liverpool??
It's because your team play like a bunch of anemic zombies all season then Man Utd come to down and they turn into superhuman superstars for 90 minutes. I bet you'll players will revert back to playing like they don't give a **** in your next match.
Your response doesn't really address the issue of why you don't mind losing to Liverpool at anfield. I suppose when you are out played all over the pitch all you can do is pretend not to care
I don't remember us looking like anemic zombies when we beat Chelsea. Don't pretend guys you all know how much you love beating a bitter rival. It just so happens you didn't and now the best attitude to take to deter people from knowing your pissed off is to pretend it meant **** all and say we are over celebrating... I haven't seen anything to suggest we are over celebrating... Celebrating? Yes... Over the top? No!
I think three days and counting of intense laughter isn't anywhere near OTT enough. I recall Utd fans predicting a 6-0 win when Dalglish returned, then gloating because they won on a soft penalty against ten men. One loss in ten games is hardly anemic, whereas three losses in five games is when the blood transfusion service is really needed. You wouldn't bet because you're not that stupid. Oh, hang on a minute...please come back to tell us how much you bet on it.
Course we care when we lose to our most bitter rivals. But come the end of the season, the vast majority of Utd fans and players will look back on the match and see it primarily as three points lost which could have a crucial impact on the title race. Whereas the vast majority of Liverpool fans and players will remember this game as their season's highlight and look back on it for the next two or three years, not caring about whether or not it had an impact on the season. Compare similar results in previous seasons: We beat you home and away in 2008, with a conclusive 3-0 victory at OT. But all Utd fans care about from that season is that we won the PL and CL. Beating Liverpool was great, but just another match en route to more trophies. Liverpool beat us home and away in 2009, with a conclusive 4-1 victory at OT. You finished in the top two for only the second time in the PL, with your highest ever points total in a 38 game PL season. But pretty much all Liverpool fans have talked about from then on is their 4-1 victory - it's like the rest of the season just didn't matter.
That's a fair assessment, though we've had to trot out the stats on that season as much in defence of Rafa's achievements as to gloat - nine goals more than anybody and they said Rafa was too defensive! We also had a double over Chelsea and a 4-0 rout of Real, so the rest of the season did matter, especially as we were operating on the resources of 5th. I think it's also fair to say you'd be exactly the same. We'll know soon enough when the dominance changes hands once again.
The 4-1 win over United was irrelevant. We had already beaten Real Madrid 4-0,we had to justify that by destroying their feeder club too in the same week.If we didn't.Something would have been seriously wrong.
We were. Back in the 80s when you were winning titles for fun we were just the same. As for dominance changing hands again...well...let's just say I don't expect to live that long Point proven
We came close to winning the title with a negative coach when Man Utd had a very strong team. Under kenny we will get better and more consistent and the yanks will spent more money over the summer. Whiskey nose needs to spend in the summer on quailty and not be relying on giggs & scholes. Obertan, gibson and bebe??
Interesting proposition...but I won't hold my breath....cos I remember reading the same old story about dominance changing hands in 1996 and 2002 and 2009. Fourth time's the charm, eh?
