But the big point of that Pompey statement was that they have a winding up hearing in mid February! <cheers>

Oh for goodness sake - the administrators are de-facto shareholders now as CSI are in administration. The administrators are tasked with selling the businesses owned by CSI, of which Pompey is one. Pompey is not in administration and the administrators have no other involvement with PFC.

Mark Fry was the administrator for Southampton Leisure Holdings, not Southampton football club. Southampton Leisure holdings had a number of non football related businesses. Yet, 21 days after the parent company went into admin the Football League still gave a points deduction.

The statement on your official site today says...

"We knew that the club would not generate sufficient funds to support itself through this period."

    http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Portsmouth-Football-Club-Statement-3049.aspx

They were reliant on money from the parent company, and inextricably linked. David Lampitt has admitted as much on your own website!

Lastest rumour is Gaydamak is coming back to save pompey. I didn't think the FL would accept arms dealers as owners?.

As far as I can tell it now looks a foregone conclusion after reading the statement. It just seems to be a question of when and how many points will be deducted.

Your own fans know a lot more about that situation than we do and you would be better off asking them, but there are some significant differences between the two situations. We are still expecting to get a points deduction, but at the end of the current circumstances rather than immediately.

Does anyone else find it amazing that Admin Andy is back on the scene. As someone whose job it is to basically clear out and restructure the business in quick time, surely someone who has no previous connections to the club would be essential. If I was owed money by Pompey I would not be happy about that one. Also if as you say 3rd eye Hackers are not directly involved in the running of PFC, does that mean they are not dealing with their imminent tax problems...if so this would concern me as something clearly needs to be done. On the other hand I do not want to see you lose points, all things considered mid-table in the Championship is a good result for Pompey.

Initially it was thought that CSI put themselves into admin as protection from the Lithuanian government seizing the company but then it became clear that Chanrai got wind of the arrest warrant and put CSI into administration as he was owed funds for the purchase of the club. It was Chanrai who appointed Hackers as he was a major charge-holder. AA's job was to sell all the companies owned by CSI.

David Lampitt is still running the club as per normal and he is dealing with the tax matters, talking to HMRC and the FL etc. Admin Andy has far too much to say about things that he shouldn't discuss really.

I see...kind of. The number one job for him must be to steer PFC through the winding-up order and to the end of the season, and either the numbers add up (good) or they don't (panic stations). I'm guessing that neither Andy nor Chanrai are particularly interested in whatever other crap CSI are involved in, because the last thing Chanrai wants is to own Pompey next Summer. Unless he lowers his £20m asking price that seems inevitable.

A recent article said that it was our points deduction that put off the backers of the failed Pinnacle purchase leaving the way open for Markus...it's an ill wind that blows no one any good.

    this^

any other club would have points deducted... and every other club has. So what makes it fine for Portsmouth to not have points deducted? are they any better than Leeds, Southampton, Bournemouth, Luton? it's that superiority complex from Pompey fans who refuse to accept that their club deserve to die that makes me more angry.

We call them Skates but I am beginning to think that a more appropriate name would be slippery eels.

As you can see you can take bits from the statement and make it suit your own purposes.

Rules are rules..even if they don't always seem fair to others. We were caught out by a cut off date which meant our points were deducted the following year, though we could still have saved ourselves by staying up and having them applied in the Championship year. We tried to say the holding company was in admin not the club, but it was regarded as a tactic, whereas the FA have accepted that CSI (a much larger company) is not the same as PFC. Obviously, Pompey are just better weasels than we are.
