Good luck to those needing a job and well done to the club for getting involved. Personally I always found work overrated, but then I lived through the good decades from the 1940's to the 1970's when everything seemed to be getting better and there were jobs for anyone prepared to do a fair days work, so I took employment for granted.
I second your sentiments, Eddie. And well done to Pat for bringing this to the forum. I was never around in the 1940s, though.
Thank you PEA and good luck to any job seekers attending. It's actually taking place in the Millennium Suite, unfortunately could not transfer all the details from the pdf.
Well done Pat for posting this and to the club for hosting. Good luck to all the jobseekers - keep at it - failure cannot live with persistence. Crewed at a Jobsfair in Bristol on Friday - 400 through the door in two hours - you could weep at the waste of talent and experience.
I could have used this thread to rant about the amount of imported labour in this country. I won't. There is nothing to be gained from highlighting the difficulties facing young home-grown talent... ...while Eastern Europeans swallow up the few opportunities arising in the capital. Sorry.
40% armed services defence cuts announced today helping to make the country less safe, another triumph for libertarianism.
I didn't mean to imply that I was either employed or job seeking then. I am not that old. Old enough to have watched Sam Bartram play, though!
also glad to see you resisted the temptation ponders? what about the reverse though. I put myself through uni at my own expense, passed with flying colours, got a job at a top city law firm. post Lehmann in 2008 i realised the writing was on the wall for that firm. So I backed my conviction and moved to Switzerland. am i to be accused of taking jobs from the Swiss?
Everyone should stay where they were born and not move around anywhere. There I said it. There are not that many jobs in Samuel Street in Woolwich though so I might have to rethink that idea. Sorry for the interruption
How could you Cal. And in a chocolate factory that doubles up as a cuckoo clock shop. Shockin, juss shockin
