Okay. The jury will decide if old Droopy is guilty or not. Any sentence to be handed down, in the event of a guilty verdict, whether custodial or not, would be at the discretion of the Trial Judge.

Is that more to your liking, you pedantic twat?

What Hoddle said could be easily construed as disabled people deserving to be the way they are. The media were only too happy to promote this angle.

'Arry is not employed by the FA and dodging a bit of tax is hardly comparable to offending people with disabilities.

Financial problems don't happen overnight, and even if a club is audited it doesn't mean that the club is not in debt. In fact the size of the debt is not an issue providing the club pays loans/wages on time. If the size of a debt was an issue Man United would have been well down the Swannee by now. What Rednapp is saying is that as far back as 2002 the writing was on the wall for Pompey as they were struggling to pay wages then. Retrospectively it's probably only Rednapps shrewd transfer dealings that kept Pompey afloat. He made some decent profits on players like Crouch etc.

Glen Johnson: bought for £4m, sold for £17m.
Lassana Diarra: bought for £5m, sold for £20m.

Exactly. 2 days into a two week trial and it's all over.

    Seems a bit harsh.

Mandaric saved the club from ruin in 1999 and invested heavily, there were no reported financial concerns about the clubs viability in 2002 or any time until Mandaric sold the club in 2006, the new owners started spending and broke their own signing record fee 2 or 3 times immediately, they almost made European qualification and won the FA Cup, it was this latest round of spending that created the problems, I've not heard any suggestion of problems pre 2008.

Mandaric bought Leicester for around £25m shortly after selling Portsmouth so he personally had no financial issues, he also went on to buy Sheff Wed and settle their debts which were significant.

None of us will ever know the full story but I think if there had been financial issues around 2002 there would have been some media attention...

Just reading reports that Harry 'threatened' a reporter investigating his alleged criminal activity.

Apparently he said that he would 'sue the bollocks' off of a journalist who threatened to expose him.

Wouldn't it have been a better idea to have set 'Rosie' on him ? after all she had plenty of money in her account. She could have hired a hit man <whistle>

There's already a thread about that on here, Piskie.
He threatened to sue a journalist if he accused him of taking bungs.
This isn't a bung, so he would've been right to.

It would be funny if an old man was repeatedly raped in jail? What a strange sense of humour you have.

1100 FOOTBALL: BBC Sports news correspondent James Pearce on Twitter: "Prosecution say initial civil tax investigation into Redknapp after his £300,000 bonus on Rio Ferdinand transfer found he DID pay tax on it."

So if he received 300K as a "Bonus" on the WHU > Leeds Rio deal and he paid tax on it, then why would he think there was to be no tax paid on the Crouch deal and the 10% bonus he thought he should get (even though his contract stated it had been revised to 5%)?

He's seen "Tax" taken before, regardless of telling Mandaric he didn't want to pay tax he had a responsibility to declare the income and the accounts it was in, rather than hide both from his accountant and bank manager/advisor.

    Different employers, IZWT.
He may have had reason to believe that Mandaric was dealing with the tax on that transaction.

As a West Ham fan I wouldn't mention Premiership points.
You'll have a grand total of 0 this season, no matter what happens.

  17. You are posting a comment like this on the Spurs board with the expectation that we will agree to laugh at the idea of Harry being sodomized in the showers at Wormwood Scrubs? I can assure you that not everyone here will find that amusing.

He saw tax applied/taken before on previous deals, then why would he not to expect less of a bonus actually received on the Crouch 10%?

Once the money dropped into his account Roise47 why would he not question that he received the full amount and didn't appear to be taxed?

Because he hid it, hoped it would go away and then played ignorant when questioned years ago. He knew what had happened, but has decided to turn a blind eye. It's caught up with him.

Regarding the PL then I can mention what I like, when I like. Now shouldn't be back to ignoring the fact Ensil abuses, picks up on typo's and grammar errors all the while crying over such acts when it happens on this board?

    <ok>

    Well said PNP

Here's a little song for the sad, deluded West Ham fans of whom Zola is one of many

    'Since 1980 no trophies

And no Prem points this year you see

The cardboard castles are pure comedy

Just like West Ham hoofball FC.'

End of song, now some hard facts for the tragic Hammers to swallow.

We have outperformed them eleven decades in a row, that's 110 years of humiliation for the 'apless 'ammers. We're well on course for another decade of domination this time round. In fact lge-wise it could end up a 10-0 slaughter to us, just like it did when they had their darling Bobby Moore (who famously wanted to join Spurs as they were a bigger, more successful club) playing for them in the 60s.

It must kill West Ham fans to see us playing the beautiful game under one of their (ex) own, while they lump it around under a manager most of them used to despise.

Love it, West Ham, always in our shadow <ok>

PS - mustn't forget your favourite fact PNP, there's an amateur club called the Wanderers who disbanded years ago, and they've still won more major trophies than the 'opeless 'ammers <laugh>

    This is all conjecture, IZWT.
As we're yet to hear from the defence, we don't know that Redknapp didn't question the amount.

You're free to mention whatever you like, but it makes you look pretty stupid when you look at the fact that we're third and you're not even in the division, doesn't it?

My moderation is perfectly even-handed, thank you.
Your presence is a testament to that.
