So starting from Saturday we have three big games in a week, all of which are very winnable! We start off with Brighton away in the cup and this year gives us a real chance of getting to Wembley if we can get through this game and get a few home ties. I feel confident that we can beat anybody at home, even more so now that City have been dumped out of the cup with Liverpool or Man Utd to definitely follow.

This is then followed up by a midweek game at Ewood Park (which I am going to :) ) this is a very winnable away game and if we are serious about potentially getting into Europe, it is one we should be looking to win, it is vital that we don't lose this game. There is a chance that the two Demba's will return for this game, however even if they do get knocked out at the group stages...this game may come to early.

This trio of games is concluded with a home tie against Aston Villa. I have not been impressed with Villa at all this season but we can't be complacent as they have a solid defence normally and some good strikers. We also have a good chance of winning this game.

I don't think it is out of our reach to progress to the 5th round of the FA Cup and to also pick up 6 points in just a week and if we can do that we will be well on our way to a very exciting end to this season where we could be right up there challenging for 6th and potentially the FA Cup. We are on 36 points which could well be safe this season, but just a win and a draw will see us move up to 40 points (the magic number).

So lets hope for progression in the cup and at least 4 points next week and I for one would be a happy chappy!

Try to pump in some helium.

Brighton: No way we should lose. We generally do lose these type of games. This is a chance to show that this season we don't

Blackburn They have been less crap than earlier in the season and are at home. Getting a point would be okay. Getting none would make the Fulham result seem like the begiinning of a trend.

Villa We are better than them. We are at home. Anything less than all 3 points will be points wasted.

So, a chance to show this season we're not the group of inconsistent flameouts we have been for the last half decade. Or not.

    Here comes the helium...

Which of these scenarios would people prefer?

    1) Senegal getting knocked out of the ACN at the group stages with The Two Demba's returning downhearted but being available for the Blackburn game. Add to that Ba being in England during the last few days of the transfer window therefore increasing the chances of him going (PSG still looking for a striker).

    2) Senegal finishing second in there group and being knocked out by tournament favourites Ivory Coast, leaving the Demba's not so upset as they were beaten by a better team, them returning after the window closes, but missing the Blackburn game.

I think we will beat Brighton but I would rest Cabaye and drop Shola for Lovenkrands.

Blackburn is a difficult one, you never know what you get with Blackburn but up front the only pacey forward they have is Hoilett which shouldn't be a problem for us. I will go for a win in this one.

Villa worry me especially on the counter with Zog, Agbonlahor and Bent. Hopefully Ba and Cisse will be available. Draw in this one.

Also, Yakubu is suspended for Blackburn and Samba may have left.

No Samba means Pardew will think Shola and long ball **** will be perfect. Sorry to be negative.

Option 2 we should have enough for Blackburn. Down side Tiote could knack them both

Well sadly it is true. I can't believe I have got to the stage where I am praying that Lovenkrands will be fit for the next game <laugh>.

1st one, they won't be too downbeat and will perform for us. Ba won't leave either.
