...rumours are that he could be on his way to the championship with either Ipswich or Brighton.
Anyone know of this rumour, and secondly, could he do a job for either? (Is the championship his level now?)

Well he got a brace against Leeds, so he could definitely do a job in the Championship <ok>

The rumour is being banded about by the tabs, so it is about a reliable as any made up bollocks. Owen said at the start of the season he was happy playing fewer games for Utd than lots of games for a smaller club, which implies he'll stay. He also managed to get injured despite only playing four times for us this season, so whether he could last a whole season is doubtful. But the again he has only played four times for us this season, so may be getting itchy feet, particularly given his comments about wanting to play for England again.

In other words, no idea whether it's true or not <ok>

He is a perfect fit for Ipswich.

Past his prime and injury prone.

Well he's been out for 3 months now. So i dont think he can moan about appearances. If you add on those three months he'd probably be on 8 or 9 by now, which is on target for what he was happy with last year. He knows there's no hope regarding england really. Going into the championship certainly wont get him a place.

As for quality, i have always and still feel he is a very good player and would like to see him more. Once you get to around mid table downwards in the PL table he would be starting every game he's fit. At the same time you can hardly say he's been a loss to us while he's been out. Thats for the same reason he doesn't play often. That he is 5th in a line of top class strikers (we can have our top three be injured and still be starting with Hernandez-Owen, thats depth) and i dont think there's any shame in that.

Whos your top 3 then? Surely Chico is above Berbs if you are implying what I think you are. Well Chico is actually #2 for you IMO but that's irrelevant.

Based off of recent selections when all our strikers are fit, Welbeck is no. 2. I think it's a mash up for 3 and 4th between Berbatov and Hernadez, I think Berb is more likely start in place of Rooney or Welbeck, but Hernandez is more likely to come on as a sub.
