Sounds like Chainrai will be forced to step in again to protect his debt.

I am of the strong opinion that CSI were paid by either Chainrai or Gaydamak to buy Portsmouth football club and use the money they acquired via financial irregularities in Lithuania to pump into Portsmouth and begin to repay Chainrai & Gaydamak using the club as a laundering filter.
The fact that AA is the administrator for both parties is too much coincidence.

A major investigation should be launched but it would require international involvement

As I've said before there was no good reason to buy Portsmouth apart from money laundering. They do not make a profit and have no assets. All these owners have left Pompey in a worse condition than they started.

That's one hell of a conspiracy theory saintlyhero.

CSI had 8 other sports businesses, I don't think they needed us to do that, and as the FL are so closely involved with our finances it would be a pretty risky thing to do.

My understanding, from something I read back in November, was that as soon as Chanrai got wind of the extradition order/arrest warrant, he was the one who put CSI into administration and appointed Hackers again. The other assumption (made in the papers) was that Antonov put CSI into admin to protect it from being seized by the Lithuanian government, but certainly Chanrai was involved right at the beginning as CSI had only paid part of the purchase price.

The administrators were supposed to have undertaken an investigation as part of the administration process - not that we would ever get to hear the results of that.

I think you may have missed the for from forgotten and even then your post does not make sense!

I looked in my Oxford English dictionary and there is no word such as gotten listed.

Perhaps you could rewrite your post so we all understand what it is you are trying to get at.

It could be argued that at this moment Pompey are trading whilst insolvent.

They simply do not have the income to meet their overheads and I can't see how that can be improved in the short term.

Any buyer has to buy off Chanrai and Gaydamac, clear the debts and invest substantial funds in the infrastructure and it would appear also buy players to strengthen the squad.

How much would that lot cost?

Even a very rich pop star wouldn't want to see his wealth disappear and be swallowed up by PFC.

Once you have eaten into your capital it takes a lot of suffering and hard work to replace it.

So I am afraid my prognosis to the Pompey fans is you better start knocking together a coffin.

oh dear will this never end?????

I feel for the Pompey fans as all they want to do is watch football.

It really is about time that the FA stepped in and looked at the ownership rules once and for all. What with this and chicken farmers at Blackburn, and leveraged buy outs at Man U etc. The FA has to demand transparency or ensure that clubs lodge either a bond or cash with the FA equal to 6 - 12 months income. and limit losses to ensure that clubs need to become self sufficient - over time.

You could add Chelsea and Man City to your list olddellboy. Without the sudden influx of money when these clubs were bought the football clubs wouldn't have had such a large differing ability to pay for players.

We sit relatively comfortably with our current owner and have been assured by our chairman that he would be able to find a new owner quite quickly if our owner decided to sell. That's us but what of all the other foreign owned clubs? Could Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Villa be able to cope if their respective owners decided to quit. How much would these clubs be sold for and at what cost to the clubs themselves?

Blackburn, Reading and others are also, like Birmingham and Pompey, struggling. There has to be something done to make this continuous scenario of clubs going into monetary troubles less frequent. What I know not, but a fairer distribution of the tv monies would help. Stricter guidelines on the % allowed of income to be spent on the squads would as well. to the few who are destroying their club.

Pompey fans have gone through the wringer so often lately that for any to turn up for games is a commendable act of defiance in the face of adversity. We may laugh and joke at their poor gates but they have a poor stadium with poor facilities. Owners have steadfastly failed to amend that situation and it is another reason for the less hardy of the faithful to turn their backs on the club.

This time I hope you are saved by someone who cares about football and maybe even the club, though feeling that can grow over time.

Another bid rejected. So they have no intention of paying the £1.6m tax bill or raising the cash to do so...

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16631720.stm

There is no guarantee any club will make further bids between now and 31st January, so this might be the only money they get. But they still turn it down! Any taxpayer here should be annoyed by that.

Or it may be that a sale is nearer completion than we are led to believe.

Or even that the offer was not enough for the two of them.

Suggests that its only a short term problem and they expect to have some money injected soon.

P.s. I mean their immediate problem with HMRC is a short term problem, obviously there are many other problems.

Portsmouth fans should be ashamed of their club. Look at what happened to Bournmouth and they weren't half as bad.
