Go and support man city, I would rather have a couple of thousand supporters at SMS than a stadium full of morons who boo the team when their second in the league after only their second loss all season at home. Absolute embarresment especially being on TV aswell, same goes for those who get on guly's back. Whats the point in supporters who dont get behind the team when it matters, credit to those who kept going.
In fairness, there were no good points from that game. Can't blame people for a bit pissed off. Glad you're an optimist but time for a bit of realism.
Yh fine If we were crap then I will admit it. But booing will never help, IMO our one duty as fans is to get behind the team, once out of the stadium fine slagg of the performance it doesnt do any harm but booing the players will just dent their confidence.
There was no commitment from start to finish, people pay good money to watch , they are entitled to be ****ing annoyed.
I agree about the money. But do you see yourself as a customer/spectator or a supporter. I think of my self as someone who supports the club and when I go I try and do everything I can to help the boys, obviously not very much cos im not playing but even so. If you see it just as a product fair enough but thats not how I see it. Also fans have to realise the atmosphere can knock the players confidnece.
I accept that but be annoyed constructively! Booing just makes a bad situation worse. I don't suppose any of the Saints players need to be reminded how badly they played tonight but do you think that Nigel will be shouting and screaming at them in the dressing room? His job is to pick the players up, criticise where people haven't followed the plan, and work towards the next game. His job will be harder than ever if the players are upset because the crowd are on their backs. A constructive response from the crowd is to sing and shout throughout the game and once the whistle has gone, go home quietly. No applause, but no booing either.
I hear what your saying. But my self personally, I am always pissed off when Saints lose and play poorly and the family keep well clear at fear of being yelled at. But tonight was nothing like that I just feel embarrassed. We were shocking! The missed place passes I can just about handle. But not one player tonight put their foot and and wanted the tackle! That's whats annoyed me the most!
Hmm having a go at the boo boys, we the crowd gave more heart etc then any of that team tonight. I myself did not boo, but can't blame others that spend their hard earned cash to watch utter ****e. When footballs on 8k a week and up show nothing for the badge they wear. End of the day we fan's are the only loyal people at the club, the players don't they are there for the green. People have a right to show how pissed off they are.
Fine but I think it harms the team, regardless if they are payed well their still human and getting booed by thousands will never help anyones morale. Of course I cant dictate how people want to behave but I think as fans our actions have consequence, admittedly not as severe as players, and if people boo they cant IMO complain if form starts to dip as a result.
Yeah. OK we were bleedin' awful. I am drinking coffee to prepare for a 4-5 hour drive home. By the time I'm in bed they'll have been home hours .... but I didn't boo 'cos ultimately they knew they were ****e. I just wanted away. Bad night so how do they bounce back? Well, they'll be less motivated by booing.
They get paid it is their job to play, if I worked that ****e at my job. I would have been bollocked, if the players can't handle people criticising them then they shouldn't be players.
I agree with slamming the booing. The crowd also seemed too intent on winding up nugent than a rousing chorus of 'oh when the saints'. That performance was IMO the worst I have seen in a long time. It's ok to lose a few, that's to be expected but the manner in which we lost actually hurt me. The players seem knackered, disjointed and even clueless. We've lost to every team that stop us playing football and press us high up the pitch. That game was an advert in how to beat Southampton, live on sky sports. I see the season as two halves. We smashed the first half but teams have worked us out and we will have to work twice as hard to win these second fixtures which on today's showing (admittedly lacking a few key players) we don't seem capable of mixing it up. We need a few faces, definitely at the back, perhaps even a tough tackling centre mid as we just have playmakers that are great when we 'play' but don't have the ability to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. The Cardiff game is now a huge game. This is not a slamming of the team, just a sense if reality. We still have enough quality in the ranks to succeed but we need another 20 percent effort to push us on. Take note of West Ham, Birmingham and Cardiff. They win ugly. They don't always set the world alight but they are winning games and I think we need to find a bit of that! Onwards and upwards. Hopefully!
