are we really going to play a hugely weakened team? and even if we do then I'd fancy our second string to still be able to overturn them however up for it they might be. taking this into account, skybet's current odds of 5/6 look pretty good value.
Just have to be wary. Their front two, Tubbs and Barnett are a good combination and aren't to be taken lightly. They have a solid midfielder in Sergio Torres who likes to spray the ball about. Having said that, we should still prove too much for them. A team of Carson East Hobbs Cooper Dawson Evans Cairney Garcia Koren Stewart King Should see them off.
I was thinking more of this: Carson East. Hobbs. Cooper. Dudgeon Garcia. Olofinjana. Cairney. Brady McLean. King. Subs: Mannone, Dawson Chester McKenna Fryatt Stewart Emerton
I would of thought that Olofinjana, Cooper, King, Cairney and Dudgeon would all play. It'll be the same formation as it always is, hopefully with Brady once again in the Koren role. I think it'll be something like this: Carson Rosenior Hobbs Cooper Dudgeon Olofinjana Cairney Stewart Brady Garcia/Mclean King
Think we are being a bit disrespectful I can see most of those projected sides getting turned over. City have to play as strong a team as possible. Mannone Rosenior Cooper Hobbs Dudgeon McKenna Evans Stewart Koren Brady Fryatt
The thing is with knockout betting, extra time/penalties (or in the FA Cups case, replays) don't count towards your bet. Therefore there are longer odds on each match and it goes to peoples heads when they make an accumulator. E.g Bolton - Macclesfield, at evens Bolton seemed an amazingly priced bet, but it took them a replay to win. Look out for safer 'to qualify' bets.
my new year resolution was to give up betting, and going well so far, if one team tempts me out of it it certainly wont be city, the kiss of death on many accumulator
We have to show crawley the respect they deserve, anything less than a full strength side, could be a upset on the cards.
I used to have that attitude towards it and bet small accumulators, losing a tenner a week and the occasions that I did win barely covered the losses. Now I play it safer and win £20 9 weeks out of 10.
The FA cup is a devalued competition because teams are playing weakened sides. It is now easier, if you get lucky in the draw, for Championship clubs to get to the final. We need to show Crawley a lot of respect and turn out the first team. If we win then get lucky in the draw, whats to say we cant go all the way. Just a point like.
Is Simpson injured? Surely he should at least be on the bench for the 2nd string? I would look to start him with King, although Fryatt could do with some pitch time too with an eye on starting next week.
I agree, after NB saying he had a clean slate, unless he is just not doing it in training, he seems to be out in the cold at the moment for some reason.
We should play a strong team. I agree about giving some players a chance to impress like Cairney, Cooper, Dudge and King but other than that a full strength team should be played apart from Rosie if he's struggling -----------Mannone------------ Rosenior Cooper Chester Dudgeon --------Evans----Cairney------ ----Brady---Koren---Stewart--- -------------King-------------- Subs: Carson, Hobbs, Dawson, Olofinjana, Garcia, McLean, Fryatt (maybe Simpson)
Do we even need this distraction? the last thing we need is a cup run (a cup which we clearly aren't going to win) costing us points in the league as we've seen happen to plenty of other teams in the past. I'd rather we went out to be honest.
