Would not be so quick to underplay Wenger's influence on Van Persie and Fabregas. The way Cesc speaks about Wenger should tell you how much he means to Cesc. Fabregas was no doubt a massive talent but he was unsure about how his career at Barca was going to develop. He was not confident of making it with the likes of Iniesta,Deco and Xavi in his way. So Wenger instilled great self belief in Fabregas and gave him his trust. That would have meant a lot to Cesc. Wenger is great at doing that with young players. Regarding Van Persie, he was a Hothead when he was young and Wenger would have had to work with him. Van Persie got arrested in 2005 and Wenger would have no doubt helped him through that awful period in his career. Then we also have the injuries and how that affects a player. Wenger again would have need to talk and encourage Van Persie in the bad times. The technical coaching is more about shaping the rough ages with top level players. Coaching and developing the person and man is what Wenger and Fergie do time and time again.
Arsenal fans are very harsh on their players. All that dross and they still managed to qualify for the champions league every year. I hate this tendency to rate every player as being evil and bad with no hope of redemption, or good and perfect and indispensible. The reality is that form waxes and wanes, even the best players make mistakes and there is always a chance for improvement. A lot of football is about team play, than about individuals. Should Arshavin have been one on one with Valencia with no one else for 25 yards in any direction? Stop with the hate, and support the players. Putting them under pressure makes them nervous and reluctant to take a chance. We as fans, are not helping them. Take a lesson from the United fans. As soon as they get a player he is instantly considered world class and they sing his praises to the rafters, even when all logic would suggest he is a dud, *cough* Anderson *cough*. As an aside, just think how good Ox is feeling about himself this morning. Do you think Wenger is clever enough to have done that on purpose? Do you think Ox will get a run in the side now? How much confidence will he have? How much of a break will fans give him, if he has a bad game or two?
For someone who's been supporting Arsenal for over 30 years, I find it surprising that you consider almunia, squill, denilson and eboue to be four out of the ten worst players for Arsenal in that period. You keep talking about blind faith, yet nearly everyone on here, both supporters and detractors of Wenger have reasoned their arguments, pointed out why they believe what they do and pointed to where they recognise what other people are saying. It's called debate. Your attempts to try and polarise the argument in an attempt to disparage some supporters and drive a wedge between genuine fans is clear to see.
I've ALWAYS been a big fan of Eboue, always will be too. I don't think Denilson was a bad player, he did a valuable job for us and I could see his worth, the problem for Arsenal was he didn't excel at anything in particular, he was average going forward and defensively. If he had a a bit more steel I would've been Denilson's biggest fan !! I championed Bendtner on the 606 boards, I said he had the tools to be better than Adebayor and I wasn't bothered that we sold Adebayor, no doubt Wenger thought the same thing. Wenger played him as a Right forward/winger though which was no good for Bendtner. I did realise in his last season with us that he wasn't good enough for us though. The players I actually have/had a hard time with are Vela, Squillaci, Walcott, Clichy, Arshavin, Song, Diaby, Almunia, Fabianski. Walcott and Song might be eyebrow raisers to some but, I know we can do much better than bloody Song and Walcott, far more hit than miss and for too many games he does nothing at all.
The first time I saw RVP play I knew he would be great. The same goes for Cesc. This was before Wenger had had a chance to influence their game, this is why I don't give Wenger the credit for developing either player. He can have the credit for the likes of Wilshere, Cole, Gibbs ... but not Cesc or RVP.
No you misunderstand me, I completely disagree with banning people just for having opposing opinions. However this guy seems very likely to be a supporter of another club who just pretends to be an arsenal supporter in order to win other people up. There was a guy before who had exactly the same rambling writing style as him. Thats why they should be banned.
