The Mikel Arteta Olsson fanpages just retweeted someone saying that our poly-grass pitch causes many injuries, as the Phil Jones one yesterday for example.

Could this be why we're constantly getting crocked? From what I remember, most of our bad injuries happen at the emirates, with the exception of a few like the Horror Tackles.

No I don't think it is our pitch at all. Jones is a a big chap, a relative lard arse, so him putting the weight on the outside of his foot was always going to spell disaster - irrespective of what pitch he was on !

Its a mixture of things imo.

The pitches are too firm ,grass too and wet to make
the ball move faster. The causes far more strains on muscles and ligaments etc.

The boots worn by the players do not provide enough ankle, side of foot and front of foot protection as they are too light and are designed for speed.

The players tend to use blades instead of studs which can make injuries worse due to the fact they dont give for the standing foot in the way as studs do.

we make very late tippy-tappy passes often swivelling round - so get clipped more often than most.
