In all seriousness I think this would be a good, solid signing. Townsend - Clayton - Wellens - Delph - Snodgrass, not a bad midfield.
Not this month he won't. And even if this contract stalling story is true (you know, the one with no quotes or sources) it still has 18 months left to run.
Wellens hasn't had the best of seasons, but if your looking for a fairly consistant defensive midfielder, hes your man.
Whilst he may have started to lose favor with NP (strange though as he had been one of his favourites first time around)...he will still be a great midfielder for any team. Leeds will get themselves a good player here there is no doubt IMO. I'd like to think Snoody would swap + some of our millions but its wishful thinking at best. Leeds dont half like our out of favour players - although theyve had a good history with em.
Not being funny. But a player that hasn't been on form (i.e. a run of 4/5 good games at this level on the trot) and that is nearly 32 doesn't strike me as a player that i'd be happy to sign if I were a Leeds fan.
I dont want Wellens to go. Weather you think he is good enough or not for first choice he is more then good enough to be a squad player They can have Oakley instead
I liked Wellens but if he moves on, I won't have any qualms as he has been a good player for us. Would fit neatly into a Scholes role for Leeds - other players could be his legs and let him act like a playmaker from deep which is how he should play for us if he stays. Lost his legs but has a very good head on him.
