Well how many goals do Walcott, Chamakh, Park and Arshavin have? How many assists are our midfielders providing? These kind of stats show a lack of quality rather than continuous mistakes.
I don't believe that many of the people on here are pretending to be arsenal fans, they just don't deal with defeats in a mature way. Also using the internet to communicate does not encourage level headed reactions.
I don't think there are many, but there are definitely one or two who are simply here to wum. Genuine disappointment and criticism is fair enough, but some of the comments on here just smack of wums.
The whole 'real fans goes to stadiums' is crap. I don't support arsenal at all (though Wright and The Super Dutchman hold a special place with me as I grew up watching them) and I've been to the emerates for 4-5 matches last year and a few youth cup matches awhile back. Probably been more than some fans here yet they clearly care about Arsenal more than I. I can't get to Anfield due to working pretty much every weekend the last 3-4 years. Despite 23 years of support, supporting them when they were awful, I can't make it to games anymore. Does that make me a plastic?
GoonerC, tickets for Villa in the FA Cup are upwards of £40, if I go I will have to buy 2 tickets. I'm not paying almost £100 for 2 bloody tickets to football, add in the food and drink and I won't get change for £100. Money is too tight for that level of extravagance.
You're now arguing about the price of tickets.Your argument before was about how hard it was to buy tickets. When they first went on sale you could have bought a ticket for £35 for the Villa game.
i hear you!! went to the game yesterday. train fare (50), match ticket (60), lunch (10), tube fare (7), a couple of pints (7) and a snack (2) and i was up to over £130 for a day out. I just can't afford that on a regular basis.
The extra money for tickets for category "A" games is a ****ing scam.I paid £51 for a ticket yesterday when i would normally pay £35. Yesterday my outlay was ticket £51,coach £40,breakfast £10,beer £20,food on way home £8.
Exactly right. The thing is too now get into the Champions league places we have to play everygame like its a Cup Final. The team is more than capable of going on another good run and catching up Chelsea/Spurs but NOT WITHOUT support from the fans. Its hard enough to win Premierleague games but when your own fans are booing you the job becomes considerably harder. Football is all about confidence and a good crowd can really effect that.
No, what I said was getting tickets to Highbury was far easier .. and it was. I could rock up to any game bar the biggest and get a couple of tickets from touts, a lot of the time I am working for Saturday 3pm games so I like being able to turn up and get tickets or decide a couple days before to go, which inevitably means bringing company. I don't live on the internet so I never know when the tickets are on sale and whenever I check, its £40+ for a ticket. I'm not gonna go by myself either. My pals are either armchair fans or broke and I can't afford dishing out for them as well. So its a cost thing and the fact that I don't check the Arsenal website often enough to know when the tickets are gonna be available. So like I said, getting tickets to Highbury was much easier ! I remember getting 2 tickets from a tout outside Highbury just as the game kicked off, in the East stand, for £50 for the pair ... job done ! Food and drink were cheaper.
Ok so lets say you sack wenger, then what? who do you bring in? the whole way the club is run will have to change, people forget how long wenger has been here and the club is run specifically to how he wants to play football and develop players and bring young players through, its all too easy to sack a manager but what is your plan after you sack him.
HotHead and i are just discussing the merits of buying tickets to the Emirates as opposed to Highbury, there's no need for you to make an issue and try to start an argument
I'm not trying to start an argument and wonder why it is that you were taking that sort of tone with him. It seems Piskie and you take that sort of tone with the members who hold a different opinion to yourselves. That was the point I was trying to make.
