If he doesn't sign today, then something is definitely not right. Looking at this transfer without yellow and green goggles on, it appears all the details were sorted before the weekend, we asked him to stay and watch the game against Chelsea, and then he had the weekend to think about it. If that's the case, I won't be disappointed if he doesn't sign. We want players that are 100% committed to what we are trying to do here. Of course they could be holding out on giving the press conference so they can announce a double transfer.
He might have signed and they just haven't announced it yet? Or there were complications about his knee needing more assessment from our doctors perhaps? I hope it is a double announcement with a loan player coming in. Looks like oxlaide chamberlain is well out of the question after last night although that was just a twitter rumour
If it happens then sorry mate but would respectfully suggest to prepare for getting used to it. The harsh reality is we are currently a team that players might want to come to to play PL football. We had this discussion with JOSH some months ago and it was agreed if Leeds didn't look like getting promoted certain players would walk to get the chance at PL football though I must admit I did not think it would happen in this transfer window.
wouldn't trust this source as it comes from a guy that even leeds fans say is slightly dubious! as for howson, its merely a case of waiting for scan results and paperwork to be finalised as far as i know. he was at the game on saturday and agreed personal terms in a matter of hours during the week
also, lambert has spoken about howson three or four times already, about what he is going to bring and how happy he is to add further competition to the squad. lambert has never ever spoken about players who haven't signed. nothing to worry about here. keep calm and carry on
Thai I know mate, I used to go to school with Howson, Hardworking guy who was always going to be a footballer! He will do a great job in the premiership for you especially if Lambert plays him in his preferred position, No disrespect but he is a better player than Hoolahan very similar but better finisher, stronger and gets stuck in aswell. Lambert knows his football so will probably ease him in to the premiership gently! I think more people should leave Leeds because at the end of the day we are just hindering their progress this also applies to Grayson we are slowing down their development.
It has already crossed my mind that Hoolihans days might be numbered (others may not agree) with this signing (assuming it does happen). Can see him possibly going in the summer as PL will not sit still and continue with the same team next season. He has a habit of turning players over and creating a 'new look' team each August - must admit, he does it rather well.
Fantastic to have Hoolahan and Howson, great competition, expect both to push each other on, great luxury to have when you can rest one playmaker for a few games, makes all the difference over the december and january period
BLASPHEMY! The 4 people we do not mention replacing ever, they will stay until they die: Holt, Hoolahan, Lambert and McNally
howson signing won't be the end of hoolahan. yes howson plays at the tip of the diamond behind the strikers and so does hoolahan but little wesley can also play in a deeper role. in any case, a premier league squad requires players within it that are capable of unlocking defences. wes is one such player - just because we are signing someone similar doesn't mean the end - it is to add competition. if hoolahan doesn't perform well and loses his place in the team, and can't be bothered to fight then his time is up, but only then. can't see that happening...
Hoolahan hasn't been his best, but while he doesn't quite have the skills that have been mentioned above he does have other great skills that Howson doesn't. What Hoolahan loses in strength he gains in technique. We never know they could be playing together or swapping. I think Lambert is looking for Hoolahan to have competition and have the option to give one of them a rest while still being able to play someone in the advanced position
